Job security - arne

Yes it is. Salah didn’t pass to either Wirtz or Isak vs Man U. What was the end result?
Do you really want to play that game?

There are countless examples of every player who doesn’t pass then they could/should.

Salah is the best goalscorer we’ve had in donkeys as well as the best assister dwarfing everyone else.

Obviously they don't love it. That's why Milner and Hendo are at Brighton and Brentford, and Ron and Messi are in Al and LA.

Point is most players don't even get that option. Hit the age bracket and they'll flog you off to the Saudis or release you
Salah isn’t there yet imo after what he did last season and would do this season if we deployed a system to get to most out of his declining powers (which are still better than anyone else in our squad)

Fair question but I have little hesitation in answering "no". GH could be and frequently was a right b@stard, but he well knew Fowler's talent and tried the "arm around the shoulder" approach to begin with, even to the extent of making him vice-captain. It did no good and, sadly, GH and Thommo had every right to say enough was enough IMO.
Fowler would only have changed if the playing group around him changed too. Environment and role models are everything.

@Dreambeliever When we went through a string of losses under Klopp it was because we had huge injury issues, most of us could see that.
In the many games we played, it feels like nothing is different. We are playing the highline and we getting countered. We are unable to defend set pieces. I would like Slot to turn the corner, and I think we might turn the corner this weekend. However, I am wrong more often than right.
If we lose again and we still playing this highline football, then howlong do you give the guy?
Ali (first choice)
Frim (first choice)
Gravy (first choice)
Isak (first choice)
Macca (first choice)
Bradly (second choice)
Jones (second choice)
Leoni (second choice)

So half our first choice team is injured.

I would like to judge him when he gets his stronger players back like Gravy, Ali and Isak with Macca fully fit before saying he isn’t the one.

I was thinking more about when he came through, as an impressionable teenager. At that point he was introduced to a squad that didn't have the best of disciplines and a manager that allowed it to happen.

That's certainly possible, but ultimately it had to be his own responsibility to shape up. His success in business in more recent years suggests that fundamentally he's nobody's fool, but he still acted the fool at that time, though admittedly people mature at different ages.

I can play this game until the cows come home.

Why are they all injured? Rather not fit? Only Leoni is a freak injury. Slots was lauded for being amazing with fitness. 5 of those have muscular injuries, 2 have been available the past few games and the rest of the squad, bar 2, look slow and/or weak as fuck.

He isn't the one

But no one is really. That's what happens when a manager we all love leaves. He was a once in a blue moon/fume, manager.

There's also a lot of problems with firing a manager mid season and bringing in a panicked replacement.

Is anyone listening to the cunt now?

Now it's not a squad issue, suddenly.
He's now blaming pre-season.

Why would anyone in their right mind waste their time listening to that boring bellend.

Rather watch Denise Welch and Carol McGiffin go at it on Loose Women.

We have lost 5 out of our last 6 games. Not all of them were missing from that list. All managers have injuries, but good managers adapt the tactics and formation to fit the circumstance. Why we not more conservative? Why do we play the highline despite being caught out so often? Why despite having one of the tallest team in the league we struggle with set pieces? I want us to play on the counter until the team has gelled

He "doesn't see us conceding a lot of chances, so doesn't see a reason to change the playing style".

Not sure what our playing style is and we're continually giving up chances.

Embarrassing. May aswell be playing back recordings of buck tooth from 2015, same old arrogant delusional garbage he was saying right before they sacked his arse.

I haven't seen his quotes, but the fucker should be looking at the quality of chances we're giving up, too. Regularly having 8 players in the opposition half, combined with little to no press and an inability to maintain possession, means the opposition are in with 2 or 3 passes. If he sees no reason to change the style against Villa, City and Madrid, then he's a dead man walking.

Fuck knows but it’s one of the many factors it buys him more time for me.

There's more problems sticking with this enormous bell wart.
It’s a strange stance. I could post at least 25 interviews of Slot where he comes across brilliantly, gets our club and speaks so well through difficult times.

He won the title and the first thing he did was start a Klopp chant.

This cunt stuff is weird.

Only one other manager has given us a title in the last 35 years and we did let him use that excuse actually,

But... It was far more true then?

When klopp went through his bad patch, I actually thought he did brilliantly well. The team was missing almost every recognizable midfielder and centre back, it was actually preposterous. He changed the tactics, played far more basic football, ditched the high line, and we got out of it. Our form was bad, but we never looked as dysfunctional as now. The teams problem seemed clear. We were good, the entire spine of the team was nonexistent, and all of a sudden we weren't.

The problems he faced were totally undeserved too, as COVID and owners meant he had very little support following his successes.

If you took VVD, konate, gravenberch, curtis Jones, and Robbo out this side, and slot was complaining about injuries and depth, I'd go along with it.

Yes, he’s our fucking manager.

I do think it's worth saying that there's a pretty easy way of thinking a manager isn't going to turn something around, being really annoyed he's dooming himself, without hating him. This feels like we are speed running Rafa to me. Everyone found the quirks charming then the same things annoyed the shit out them. I don't get why we need to hate him.

It is odd to me too because I don't know how anyone has really got any sense of slot as a person because he hasn't made any effort to put that across.

This entire time I've been saying I'm not sure how good a manager he is yet, even after we won the league. I thought maybe he was charmed more than great, but we'd learn a lot coming through some shit. He might not survive this first blip.

One is primarily caused by changing a bunch of players, the other by an injury crisis.

I thought it was a rare human moment that he laughed at the question be took about whether his contract talks were ongoing.

Slot when asked about maybe playing Gomez at RB and playing more defensively: first he said he's been willing to do this as necessary, but said "I don't see us conceding a lot of chances so I don't see a reason for us to change our playing style completely."

One of us is insane.
