Job security - arne

So if we got Alonso, would his style work with our squad - for now -

He can adapt to the players he has at his disposal, just like he did at Real and changed to a 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1.

The worst thing is that we can play 3 at the back. Frimpong is a natural wing back and Kerkez would be excellent at it.
Imho Robbo can play LCB and probably be pretty decent. Virgil in the middle.

A bad result away to Marseille will surely be the final nail in the coffin

Sorry mate, but how many 'another' bad results do we need?

The guy's completely out of his depth and stubborn as fuck. Plus he knows that he's a goner and I feel he's hurting us deliberately. Or he's even more thick than we've already thought.

Kick him out immediately.

Id be ok with 3 at the back of we backed him immediately and got him a CB or 2

If we've no intentions in Jan transfers, then I'm sure xabi would adapt until the summer

I know, and I agree. Just trying to imagine what it will take for FSG to act.
Once you lose the fans, like yesterday, it happens pretty quickly. I’d fire him now. Yesterday.

I am not sure, but I also think Xabi is more flexible than just 3 at the back. I don’t mind 3 at the back, but we would need be buying a lot more defenders than we already desperately need, for sure.
Well, Xabi couldn't handle Real Madrid's dressing room. And, frankly, embarrassed himself in front of the whole world. What is to say he will be able to handle Liverpool's dressing room. After his RM stint Xabi could be a good option for Everton.

Apparently comparing hodgsons amount of games to that many of our most recent games; hodgson has more ppg.

Roy hodgson had a better run of form than this manager is currently on.

This manager had 400m spent on him this summer

Roy had koncheskey, poulsen and Jovanovic. Perhaps wirtz isn't an upgrade on Joe cole?

What are we even fucking doing here? If we had 90 minutes of scintillation every week and the points didn't reflect it then fine, persist and hope the fortunes turn. Now it's rare to say we've played great football. Now it's rare to say we've even played well as a team; usually it's one or 2 pulling people out the fire

The man cannot coach a defence
The man cannot coach an attack and relies on individuals to pull him out the fire.
The man is risk averse
The man alienates members he doesn't want and refuses to utilise a squad
The man acts like a low block is effectively like PEDs for the other team.

The only defence for him is he brought us number 20. That's it. And it's not like he built us to that point either. Klopps team (+chiesa), salahs individuality won us that league. He probably couldn't believe his luck the fucking chancer.

He should have been sacked by now, but the fact he hasn't is once again down to the board being inactive. Again.

Zero defeats in 12. I’m not sure even a loss away will give you what you want.
I’ve pretty much always stayed out of the constant grief you get on the forum, but honestly mate, if you’re defending home draws against Leeds and Burnley, plus dropped points against Fulham (nevermind the shitty results before that), I genuinely don’t know what to think anymore.
It’s like you’ve handed the chubby Dutch bald cunt a carte blanche to shit down our throats every week.
I'd understand if he was a nice, charismatic person like Klopp, but he's and absolute douche as well.

I thought Slot sounded worn out in his after-match interviews yesterday. I have some sympathy for the view that he hasn't had enough respect for winning the title last season but that was then, this is now and it's starting to look to me as though he himself needs a parting of the ways.

If Hodgson had won a league title before getting that ppg, we may have a different view on him.

Glasner on the brink of being sacked

Frank on the brink of being sacked

Slot probably been given tickets to Ibiza to recover from a stressful period.

And that's fine but ultimately it stands that it's not acceptable. In court they might go "we've got family statements that he's a lovely bloke", yeah but he's still ran over a 12 year old and should go to prison.

It's not an injury crisis causing these results, it's not a global pandemic, it's not anything other than coaching and tactics.

Salah dragged us to that title last year more than slot coached us to it.

Also, this isn't our first title in 30 years.

Yes it's a rarity for us but this isn't some kind of out the blue thing any more. We should be expecting better. We have to expect better.

This isn't acceptable

I don't think anyone think it's acceptable, the difference is in how to address it.

I'm 50-50 on whether he should stay or go. I'm not in the camp of just get rid and we'll figure it out, I think we need to have a plan of who and what exactly, and that needs to be very likely to be better. There's a small, select few answers to that, I don't want us to end up like United, getting rid of managers without a plan on what to do next, it turns into an endless cycle.

If, as there should be, there are discussions on sacking Slot now and Glasner is on the list of people we'd like to consider we need to pull the trigger.

We could reach the summer with Glasner as Spurs, Alonso somewhere else and Enrique at City.

Alonso would be my preferred option. Now.

I didn't watch any of Madrid, except against us and a bit of the Clasico the other day. Was it not a case of Vinicius and the rest of the prima donnas not wanting to press or work hard? I assumed it was that, rather than Alonso's style of play.
