Job security - arne

I dont like him saying repeatedly that tactics have nothing to do with breaking a low block.

Klopp did it by creating three billion chances, and utterly denying the opposition a shot of even getting out their third.

Slot seems to keep putting beating a low block down to individual matchups shot efficiency and set pieces. That's it. No wonder we are shit at it if he thinks it doesn't involve many different elements, all of which can be better prepared.

Yep, it’s basically him admitting defeat

The low block thing is dishonest as well because in transition we are PAINFULLY careful going forward, with the players told to minimize risk. SO many times, on the break, with a great chance to get forward we become sideways passers, instead of going for that maybe slightly riskier pass forward.

Hopefully the summer additions will begin to have an impact and we will struggle along to retain 4th. Then we can have a very respectful “thank you but we’ll take it from here” decision over the summer and bring someone in that can get a proper tune from our squad

Speaking after the latest win, Gerrard claimed that Slot's performance under the pressure over his future showed his resilience, calling for the Liverpool manager to be given more praise for the important victory.

"I’m really pleased for him. It can’t be easy when you’re under that pressure. His tactics were spot on tonight. "He deserves a lot of praise and credit," Gerrard claimed post-match on TNT Sports.

However, Gerrard added that Slot's recent tendency to discuss facing a low block as being a problem needs to stop, claiming: "He needs to stop mentioning low blocks. Low blocks have been happening against Liverpool since I was playing. That’s just the way it is."

The former Liverpool captain called on Slot and the current squad to use the momentum from the result to build up some more consistent form and pick up some crucial wins in the Premier League.

He added: "I don't think we doubt Liverpool in terms of being able to handle an atmosphere, they've got experienced players who won the league, won the Champions League and competed for the Champions League."

"It's consistency now for Liverpool, It is about consistency when you are a Liverpool player, and now they've got to reset and recover properly and take this same mentality to Bournemouth and you won't have a problem at Bournemouth."
“I haven't heard him saying it exactly. But Steven Gerrard has always been very positive - and still is - about Liverpool Football Club. He cares so much about it.

"I can only agree with him, that I speak a lot about low blocks - because we face a lot of low blocks! And if people ask me after the game my opinion about the games I have to describe something.

"He also said he faced them when he played. He was also one of the players who could unlock a low block because of the quality he had.

"A lot is being said about it and maybe I should try to find other words or just simply not talk about it anymore. People know now.
And maybe we don't face it anymore because Bournemouth has always been a very intense team to play against and they will be like that [on Saturday]."

Yes, Arne. Perhaps you should just stop talking about it. We do indeed know. So do all our opponents.

“We will never be able to overcome the low block because we don’t have Stevie G’

I think maybe he should come out next week and claim to have unequivocally come up with a strategy to destroy a low block and see if the opposition manager flinches and plays open.

Ahhh, this was his club in his playing days.

From Dave OC
Slot featured in the launch alongside Jaap Stam. It was a rare moment. A Liverpool manager returning to his roots to mark a club milestone.

From a Liverpool point of view, this shows where Slot’s values come from. Loyalty. Identity. Growth.

The same man who built his career step by step is now leading one of the biggest clubs in the world. And he has not forgotten where it all began.

It's quite clear, and has been for some time, he's no longer the manager for us.

Why would we sit on our hands, probably miss out on CL next year and delay anybody coming in and sorting this mess out?

Completely baffling.

The irony is, i really don't think it's that difficult.

21 points in 18 games. He genuinely could have taken us down if he hadn't fluked the first 5 games.
