22 years old and getting no time as usual to settle from the fans. Fantastic.

Been one of our best players this season while played out of position. And the going forward part? He's covering for Lucas.

I think he's a good player. He's probably got the best touch of our entire team and keeps possession really well, as well as winning his fair share of challenges.

However, he's not a match winner, and he's not going to weigh in with many goals or assists. We already have our fair share of players like that, so I can understand Piedro's misgivings.

So I'm not allowed an opinion? Behave yourself. I was there today and supported the team, I don't slag off anyone at the game. But I can say what I want away from anfield so do one.

And best players this year? Haha. Only Suarez, Skrtel, Johnson and Stirling can be proud of their efforts so far this season. The rest have been in and out, or fucking shite.

Poor the agger
Poor the Piedro

Poor Raheem.

His own fans misspell his surname.

Who said anything about your opinion mate? It was a general comment as a lot of people have mentioned this after 2-3 poor games.
Its a shame you feel that way cause I'd add him to the list of players you posted.

He's being played out of position, and for that reason alone its not right to judge him yet imho.
Think he'll step it up when Lucas returns which will add some much needed balance to the side.

Sorry Macca, I don't agree. Time will tell. He's a crab. I like my Midfielders to actually try and go forward. Anyway.

And Leo - it wasn't hard was it?
He's way more than that fella. I know he's not exactly Xabi(esq) but he's a fine player who as Macca pointed out will go on to be one of our finest signings. Take a look at how he responded to Fellaini last week. He got bossed a bit by him at the beginning of the match but he responded beautifully. By the end of the match he was going toe to toe with him and that is no mean feat given the quality of Fellaini and the age and size of Allen. I for one was very impressed with the plucky little lad.

Some of his passing today was dire but his quality is there to see, he's going to be a good signing over the longhaul, he reminds me of Didi a fair bit, he'll get up to speed.

We've been spoiled with quality 'kids' this season, so people tend to forget when viewing the likes of Allen and Shelvey that up until not too long ago, had they been in the first team, they'd have been considered the kids.

I think Allen will be a really good signing for us. He has been a bit sloppy lately but everyone can have a few off days. Once Lucas is back, we'll see the best of him and Sahin I reckon.

When Lucas is back, one of them will be on the bench. Cos he won't drop Gerrard.

Take all your comments on board, but I just prefer my centre mids to have a bit more drive about them. Not just pass the ball sideways like a crab.

Anyway, as you were.

It's worth remembering that Joe Allen is currently filling in for Lucas. It's not his natural game to be playing as deep as he is. Remember his first few games when Lucas was fit? That's the Joe Allen we can look forward to, and the one who will go on to justify his price tag and then some.

He might move Gerrard out to the right.

I think Allen's great but I sort of see where Piedro is coming from.
We effectively have about 9 players in the team who offer no goal threat whatsoever, Allen being one of them. It's nice to have players who are methodical, ho hum etc. but, you know, you need to score goals to win games.
Lucas coming back will add yet another player who is tidy, careful, you name it, but has no fucking chance of ever scoring.

Give Allen much better movement ahead of him and he'll pass forward much more often, he really will. I understand how he might seem cautious at the moment but he needs forward players to give him options.

I'm interested in seeing him with Lucas mopping up, whether he becomes more adventurous with his passing.

Very true, if everyone is standing still it's bloody hard to pick a decent pass when the opposing players are close. It's either play a pass that's likely to lose possession or give it safe to a team mate in space who is probably level with or behind you.

A midfield of Lucas Allen and Shelvey is quite exciting. There's a nice balance of youth, determination, control and dynamism to it. I hope it can develop into something special.

Sorry Pete but have to diagree wholeheartedly, I think Allen is a superb footballer.

His passing is excellant for the most part(last 2 games withstanding) his movement, touch positioning, harrying, interceptions reading and desire are all of th highest quality. If we had 3 of him in the middle we would over run any midfield.

He will become a legend at this club and the 15M was the best business we've done since 50M for Torres.

I've never seen a crab pass the ball in any direction.
I really think you might change your opinion on this one by the end of the season. I loved his battline qualities with a man twice his size in the derby too. Great to see such desire from a player in red and somehing alot of lads have lacked for a while now.
