I am a massive Magic fan and for far too long people on this site have dismissed him due to the obsession with defenders being only part of the back 4 and anything else being a bonus syndrome. However, I think this season he seems to have dipped significantly. Prob not worth what he is on now. Shame as he is an absolute professional and been one of the most graceful defenders I have seen in a red shirt.

He was lackadaisical for a lot of the second half of last season too. Brilliant on his day but also capable of the rather mediocre on others, his inconsistency and unpredictability is why he'll always pale in comparison to the likes or Arbeloa or Finnan for me, despite the fact that he's the most skilful and talented of the three. My biggest frustration is that I expect him to light up the attack, but he just doesn't do it enough these days, despite what he's clearly capable of.

Now watch him score against West Ham - he's scored 3 in the last 4 league games he's played against them.
