What's going on with Shelvey then?

It was like he started to get a sniff under Hodge podge and then the king came in and kicked him into touch?

Given that noone has exactly set the world alight in the absence of Gerrard in the middle of the park, have we got that much to lose if he played some time in place of Adam/Shelvey ?

He's shown some glimpses of quality over the past year, Im beginning to worry that he won't even be here in 12 months months time, hes 19.

I could be wrong, but I thought Kenny brought him on off the bench quite a lot didn't he?

I still have high hopes for him. Wilson however should have gone on loan.

I worry about his development if he doesn't start getting some appearances. TBH i thought the carling cup would be his playground this season but.....fuck me. Perhaps the pressure is well and truly on the king to deliver trophies and he's taking no risk

Not convinced by Shelvey, but it's still very early days in the season so i'm sure if he impresses in training he'll get his chance.

Thought we would have loaned him out for the season though.

Not convinced either (where are these glimpses of quality?). Seems a massive case of people projecting into him all the qualities we're lacking in a young midfielder (Alonso/Gerrard type qualities).

He's young with potential but the player I've watched has been painfully slow and lacking any particular attribute to make him stand out. Frankly, he looks a Championship player to me.

Still, he's young, has bags of confidence (good to see in one his age) and had seemed to have caught Kenny's eye in the past. That in itself is enough for me to wonder if I've got him horribly wrong. I hope so.

Shelvey and Wilson should have went on loan to other premeirship clubs. Its worked very well for our rivals who had young players on the fringes but have the potential.

Yes he did. He actually brought him on in pretty much every game he could last season. He was injured for a few months though

I hope to see Shelvey get a proper chance. Perhaps with Gerrard and Adam in a 5-man midfield?

Jonjo is aces. Thick as pig shit, but aces. I think he'll see plenty more game time this season.

This. I think his passing has looked good, he's got a good range, good composure and good feet, he might be paceless but so what? No one's trying to make him into something he's not. It's like the clown that said after the Fulham game that they thought he dwelled on the ball too long, you know, right before he played that exquisite through ball for Suarez to score. I swear some people haven't watched him play. He hasn't been Gerrard-esque but he's done well in the fleeting appearances he's made, the few times he's looked a bit out of sorts he's been played outwide for some stupid reason.

i cant understand in the slightest why jonjo isnt getting games, or even making the bench much for that matter, kenny seemed to like bringin him on after 70 mins, which i was made up with, i think he's got potential, he seems determined, doesnt worry about throwing a tackle in, and is better at it than adam, his long range passing may not be as good as adam's right now but it has the potential to be as good, if not better, and more importantly he doesnt go for th hollywood diagonal balls as much as adam does, if thers an easy through ball on he'll take it. with how uninspiring the pairing of lucas and adam look in the middle he's worth a try and i dont understand why kennys not trying it, i hate to say it but sometimes it seems that kennys stubbornness to make the team he envisioned a success is costing us right now, obviously thats ridiculous speculation but still

i'm concerned kenny might think the nextgen series is good enough for jonjo to get games in

i'll be fucking livid if that turns out to be the case because he's better than that

Does the clown have a fixation on Aquilani?
