We were linked this summer so probably a lazy link again. Was highely rated but has been out for a year with a knee injury.
Back playing now mind.

Not really sure he's the answer to our future left back.

What about this guy? We have other priorities right now imo. But we definitely need another left back for next summer, cause I don't think Moreno will stick around.

I think the fact that Klopp has stuck with Milner all season at LB shows how much or how little faith he has in him.

Milner would do a better job than either Can or Hendo in terms of trying to hold a lead.

He's more effective at tackling, positionally & he can do that thing I'm often banging on about (cos our midfield is incapable of doing it), slowing the game down by holding the ball then turning play.

So you see Milner playing in the DM role?
A position he's barely been tested in and would possibly nullify his threat from the wing (crosses mainly).

id suggest he could easily take the place of lallana, firmino, hendo, wijnaldum and do a decent job or at least as good a job as most of them ordinarily do

Milner has been very good in the main part.
I see no urgency for getting a LB.
No defender is perfect and we are never going to keep clean sheets every game. I dont see any reason why Milner shouldnt continue there.
A DM and a CF are far more important. Oh and a GK if we can afford it, although if we can get Hart in summer id probably stick with Mignolet for now.

Exactly so - it may mean that Milner starts games off the bench and is used tactically in that role. As for Modo being aghast at the thought, because he's never been used as a DM - we'll he'd never been used as a fucking left back either until Jurgen thought of the idea. He's been great at full back but we really should have a top class one in ASAP - there is no cover in that position as Moreno is as thick as a thick plank.

I think moving from a wing role to a fullback role is a bit more normal than going from a wing role to DM, but that's just me.

Whenever I've seen Milner in midfield he seems to be all over the place (good and bad).
I really don't think he's suited to playing a defensive holding role.

In spite of his wishes, his best displays for Liverpool, and Man City and England for that matter, have been from wide areas. Rodgers's indulging him the central role was a reason why his (Rodgers's) last days were so ordinary. Klopp has seen that, too.

I don't think comparing how players played under Rodgers to how they might play under Klopp carries much weight to be honest.

Seeing as we're looking balanced and flying in the league at the moment, I wouldnt swap around or change positions at all. Keep them were they are...

The Villa owner apparently tweeted he's turned down a 25m bid for this lad in past few days.

Sead Kolasinac has been one of the bright spots of Schalke's season so far. 2 goals and 6 (!) assists from LB. Ticks all the boxes of a Klopp player.

BTW can somebody correct the thread title? Hate to see a player's name misspelled right in the title.
