He won 4 trophies in 3 seasons at Standard and was voted Belgian league player of the year AND won the golden boot.
Do you all think he was scraping the dirt off the first teamers boots and we were duped into signing him?
I think its a case of Rafa wanting him and then Roy not.
He is nowhere near as bad as is being made out.
I only managed to see the reds twice this year and he started both games and was easily the best player on the park in one and played very well in the other, in spite of playing at lw.
He is quick and powerful and he should have played far more than he j
has.

Of cos he shouldn't get all the blame. Just a typical Rafa free transfer gone wrong I guess. Degen, Voronin etc. Job well done by his agent. Its the figures involved that is causing displeasure I guess, more so than his signing on the whole. Perhaps the reason why he didn't get a look-in by Kenny has to do with his application in training too.

It'll be interesting to watch how 'capable' we are of removing 'deadwood' under the new regime.
 
I thought he was fairly big and powerful too Oncey and should have been given more of a shout. Can't understand why not.

But the wages are just BARMY. How did we agree to that for anyone except the World's best!
 
Jova is a striker really, not a winger. He's completely incapable of playing across the middle of the field in the Premiership.. He could be a good striker thought I reckon, but we've moved on and will supposedly be uying 30m strikers from now on.

Jova could go to a Bolton or a Villa and do very well though as a centre forward.

definitely. We've had a terrible record of free transfers. Voronin, Degen, Zenden, Pellegrino, Cole. I guess there is a reason why they are free though!

Yeah maybe he hasn't impressed in training. Or maybe his stupidly generous deal involves bonuses per game or after a certain number of games and its really not worth wasting any more money on him!

Not that harsh. Zenden was a bit more productive than the rest of those, but not much.
 
Nice guy, but he was passed it by the time he arrived.

In many ways his transfer typified how shit things were becoming.
 
Zenden wasn't that bad at all- I'd bracket him with maxi. I.E a good squadie

He had a spell for a few months where he did well in the side, was industrious, gave us balance and a good setpiece delivery. He didn't set the World on fire but he did a decent job.
 
3 million isn't too bad I guess.

Tottenham fans must be fucking livid at the prospect of losing Modric and replacing him with Cole!
