You play your best 11 regardless.. If he was a footballer the big teams would be lapping him up, regardless of his shennagins.. He is over his injuries he is the type of player England need right now..

He was playing with an injury back then you cannot use that as a bench mark.. at the moment he is playing some of the best cricket he has done for years.. He should be judged on form not past tense.. Even with those figures it is still a better average tan most in the side..

Five innings and he is averaging 200+ per innings..

you cannot knock an innings of 300+ in first class cricket.. how many batsman can you name who can pull that off ?

I think you will find the selectors wanted him to play because of the Ashes.. They gave unfair conditions too.. He advised them he cannot play One day cricket due to his injuries, his body could not take it.. This would make him fresh for Test cricket.. however he was happy to take part in 20/20 cricket... He was only allowed to play 20/20 cricket if he played one day cricket..

Since bein 'sacked' from England he has been injured for most of the part.. When given an Olive Branch he took it.. left the IPL and the monies.. Joined County Cricket.. All his earnings for County Cricket are currently donated to charity..

He just wants to play Test Cricket..

You play your best 11.. he is the best England Batsmen we have.. bar none..

They did that.. prior to the new managment.. you need experience within the squad to help the new players come through.. Pietersen is the type of player you would want in your squad for that.. His presence can lift the team.. Injury free... He is world class..
