Now we are loaded why are we not chasing this fucker who is just what we need as Gerrards long term replacement? Available for 25 mil appaz - if Arsenal get him I think I will cry

we wont sign him now we have can.

From limited (youtube) clips I have seen, can is a younger version him.

£8m in wages is what he supposedly wants. £154,000 per week.

About the same as Gerrard then - no brainer - sign him up he's only 25 or so and its unlikely he'll be poached by Real in the future at least

If Lucas goes we will need two midfielders so Can's signing gives him time to establish himself using cup games etc

Khedira has sneaked a great little career for himself. I'm not saying he isn't talented but I don't consider him amongst the elite midfielders in world football today. He came into the national team to fill in for Ballack in 2010 WC and never looked back. After that impressive tournament he immediately moved to Real Madrid where he has been decent enough. Not outstanding. He was injured there for aaaages and returned to fill in for Alonso in a CL final. Nice going if you can get it. He had an excellent game for Germany against Brazil and his stock is on the rise again. Talk of Arsenal making him their highest paid player. I'm not saying he isn't a good player, obviously he is, but he's definitely benefitted from playing off a rep that has been created for him.

This. Nowhere near as good as he's made out although he had a cracker against Brazil. I dare say half the posters on here would have had as well given how shite Brazil were.

A German I work with was basically saying 'even Khedira looked great' after the Brazil game. I'm really not sure he'd add much if anything relative to how much he'd cost in wages and fee.

Exactly. I won't count last season because of his injury but the last two seasons he's only played 90 minutes 15 times each season. Out of 38 games. There's a reason for that

I have never seen anything impressive in him. He is a big name because of the teams he plays in but find it hard to see why he is so well regarded. Similar to Busquets for me - not in style but in the sense of big name but doesn't do a lot.

So first Ozil, then Sanchez and now Khedira.
That will surely make Arse fans happy.
However, their midfield now looks quite congested. They will surely sell.

I suppose Flamini and Arteta could leave, or they could just let their contracts run out in a year's time. They've probably also given up on Diaby ever being fit enough to play - he's another whose contract runs out in June 2015. Sanchez's arrival pushes Podolski further out in the pecking order, so probably another one who could be moved on to clear space.

They're still not adding depth to the backline though. Hopefully that's Wenger's blind spot.

Also hopefully by some weird stroke of luck, they fail to get into the CL group stages, and Sanchez and co. end up showcasing their talents in some frozen Russian city on Thursdays.

Is Real raising funds for James Rodrigues by selling Khedira to the Gooners?

Wenger means serious business this season.

Khedira is overrated imho, but he'll add a bit of steel to their midfield.

Selling Di Maria is funding James Rodriguez
