Blue moon must be going nuts.

98 points, back to back titles, treble.

No players in the XI either 😀

That, and the amount of Real players, tells you all you need to know about this farrago.

Is this the one where they have the likes of the assistant manager of Burkina Faso voting for Maradona as player of the year 2019?

The FIFA awards lost all credibility last year when calling to hand Man City the fair play awards after their players faught traumas of their bus being wrecked but still made it to the pitch to face Liverpool.... If you don't have enough for a movie just there I don't know what to say. Large group of their fans has develoed PTSD as a direct result of the incident.

😀 yep it’s so stupid it’s almost makes me self aware

Messi winning it again for doing pretty much the same as he does every year is a joke. Granted he is a star but he didn't take them to another level last season, nothing special, and yet he wins it again. Just because he is Messi.

[article]German coach Ralf Rangnick has heaped praise on Jurgen Klopp for the work he has done since taking over at Liverpool, as the former RB Leipzig boss pointed to the improvements of James Milner and Jordan Henderson as testament to his countryman's work.

61-year-old Rangnick guided current Bundesliga leaders Leipzig to promotion to Germany's top league and now heads up Sport and Soccer Development for all clubs involved in the Red Bull group.

In an interview with Frankfurter Allgemein, the former amateur player paid tribute to Klopp, after the Liverpool boss was awarded Men's Coach of the Year at FIFA's The Best awards on Monday night.

Rangnick pointed to the performances of Englishmen James Milner and Jordan Henderson as evidence of Klopp's good work, as well as the change in mindset of star attacking trio Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

'If you look at Jordan Henderson or James Milner before Klopp they were totally average,' he said.

'The fact that they have now become such players is entirely up to their manager. Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino were, until three or four years ago, everything other than typical pressing strikers.

'They just wanted to have the ball and play with it. The fact that they have grown together at Liverpool is all down to Jürgen Klopp.'

Rangnick also spoke at length at the sense of loss felt in Germany since Klopp and Manchester City's Pep Guardiola left the country to pursue pastures new in England.

Klopp made a name for himself while at Borussia Dortmund while Guardiola dominated during his spell with Bayern Munich. The pair are now going head-to-head for the Premier League title this season.

'Top players are developed by top coaches,' Rangnick added. 'And five or six years ago, we still had coaches in the Bundesliga who are now working very successfully abroad.

'The fact that we no longer have such people in the Bundesliga, the pace is a bit more leisurely, the game has slowed down. This has also contributed to the fact that in recent years no world-class player has emerged from the Bundesliga.

'Julian Nagelsmann (RB Leipzig manager) is the biggest German coaching talent. He is very mature for his age and, if he continues to develop, can be on a par with Klopp and Guardiola.

'Although of course, there is still a conversation to be had about Julian's fashion sense.'

He does that every year. Previous years he has deserved it when he was single handedly winning the CL for Barca. It should have gone to Virgil.

Just because he does it every year doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve it.

It’s not the most improved award, it’s the best player and it doesn’t matter whether he’s done it every year for 10 years. He scored 50 fucking goals last season in a top league for the league champions. Scoring goals is the hardest thing to do in football. Of course he wins it. Any player that scores that many for the league champions always will. It’s insane.

Lauding Klopp for some transformation of Henderson and Milner is a bit strange. Henderson's best year was probably under 13-14 under Rodgers, so it's not like he's hit some new level under Klopp.

Same with Milner, he's been an excellent player for years - an integral part of 2 title wins for City. Can't say that Klopp has suddenly brought out the best in him.
