A lot of people seem to be pretty unhappy about him having a stake in FSG though; modern football and all that.
Well, they have a point..but a drive up the road to see the big '19' at that shithole stadium should cure anyone of that idea.
People seem to want everything unfortunately; they want the club to be a global phenomenon and they want the wealth that could generate to buy the quality players we all want; but they want to keep the club local. They want better promotion but they dont want the basketball star promoting Liverpool because he doesnt 'get' the club. The want the foreign fans and day-trippers to come to Anfield, but they dont want them to take the seats of 'proper' fans.
You can understand (and I do, having gone to the Promised Land) a lot of the arguments to be fair; nobody wants Liverpool to turn into that soulless shitfest Prawn Sandwich FC. But compromises will have to be made if we want to be a great club again. I'm sick of being called the History Channel.
To be honest, I'm actually a fan of his involvement. Standard Chartered would probably have been tickled pink if we'd got in an Asian player like the Scum have ie Park Ji Sung and Dong Fanny something, well, our owners will see that call and raise you one King fucking James.
I think I can speak for all Liverpool fans when I say they're not interested in seeing an Asian pull on the Red unless he's top quality.
