It's no surprise that him becoming a mainstay coincided with us being log and winning nothing. As soon as he left, we became the best team in the world again.

Seems a nice fella and that. Average footballer.

My favourite Lucas moment.

Fond memories of that week when he was Wonderman and then his knee exploded.

Thiago at least has pedigree and success elsewhere in top divisions and in top teams, as well as obviously being a technically superb player. I said it loads before that his signing made no sense on so many different levels, but he's not really comparable to that slug, Lucas.

Really don't understand the negative comments towards Lucas.

By no means a world class midfielder, but did a decent job over the years.

You don't play 300+ games for the club without having a solid attitude and ability.

There hasn't been many Brazilians (if any) who came come straight into the EPL from Brazil Serie A and played as many games as Lucas did.

It's a very hard adjustment - and you need to remember at Gremio he was a CAM - at Liverpool he was turned into a CM/CDM.

He was made to look like a CAM based on a couple of goals he put past the local electrician and the only english journalist out there having a detached retina. At Liverpool he was passed between the other CM/CDM's to look after him in something akin to babysitting duty. After years upon years of this in which he never ever got injured ever, like a fucking cockroach, ever present, week after week, he did eventually and gradually learn a few things which he managed to subsequently implement during those several weeks of good form, following which his body now of all times decided to fall apart.

We play shit and get poor results. He has no assists and barely scores. He gives away stupid free kicks picking up daft yellows. He’s Lucas with a tan.

I don't think he's suited to us. He didn't look like Lucas at Barcelona, Bayern or Spain.

I agree and I’m just venting about how crap he is for us. Yea, he’s not what we needed. We needed a working version of keita, back up right back and another forward. And not have our colossus killed at woodison.

I'm actually starting to agree with some of comments regarding his performances.
When he joined I thought we were getting a world class player, ready to take us to the next level, but what I didn't realise is that this is someone who's won basically everything as a player and might not have that hunger that our style demands.
The thing is, we need players that are ready to battle in every game, that's how we won the league and the CL, again "hungry" players.
We're not Juve or PSG where you basically just have to show up in order to win something (bar this season for both, I guess).
So yeah, he's been disappointing but, if I can give Keita two season, I can at least give this guy one.

Of course, I loved Lucas and I still love him. I think it's unfair to say that he's the one who hindered us from winning.
We were, mostly shit when he was around and it wasn't like Klopp just figured that Lucas was the odd man out.
He pretty much cleaned house and it's not like Klopp wanted Lucas out, he chose to leave and when did Klopp replace him? 3 years later with Fabinho and that's when we started winning shit.
