I never thought he'd leave, and secretly hoped he wouldn't.

Could this potentially be an incoming takeover? If so, that could be very fucking concerning. They've got the stadium, the infrastructure, and just need the players.

Levy has a big stake in Tavis Stock group, which owns Enic which in turn owns Spurs.

Spurs were spursy before Levy and will continue to be spursy after Levy.

It's one of them. In the scheme of things they've won fuck all under his stewardship, partly because of some of his poor decisions made, but their also prime and ready for Saudi/richer ownership, has swelled their club value and the club are on firmer footing than most.

Harry Redknapp was saying that Levy only had 30 percent shares and he always had to the defer to the majority shareholder, who doesn't attends any games and keeps out the limelight, which makes it pretty clear Levy has publicly taken loads of heat for issues he's never solely accountable for. Spurs fans will likely be happy, but these things can really go eitherway.

Signing off with a year with a trophy and signing Thomas Frank isn't a bad way to go, though. I'm confident Frank will prove a very sound appointment.

Levy - great job commercially. mediocre job on the field, but they had a LOT of competition for the big trophies, and big name talent.

Indeed. It points to a need for multiple people I think. Levy might be one of the last to do both?

Newcastle have a new CEO as well, seems to have a great record in sports management - Maple Leafs are a big big deal on Hockey and he worked for the Knicks and Real Madrid as well.
