MWUUUUU HA HAAAAAAAAA All kneel before the powerful thread merger!!

Re: The Countdown to October 6

FWIW - I wish we could get back to football too but I think the ownership of our club has a massive impact on our clubs future and thus its well worth discussion. I'll be devastated if these refinancing rumours are true.

I would be amazed, genuinely astounded, if this turns out be true. It makes no sense for anyone to finance the the Yanks.
I gave a load of reasons why it makes perfect sense in all the other billion threads.
The operating profit figure you mentioned ? That was before depreciation, I wouldn't be confident of using it as a measure of anything.
No, the simple fact that the club is worth more than 237 million and they're willing to pay 40m a year for the benefit. It makes sense to any bank who only has to stump up 237 to give to the twats, make a load of profit in the meantime, then pick up an asset onb the cheap if they go bust. It's simple.
Isn't that the sort of approach to finance that has the financial markets in the state they're in ?
No, it's watertight for the bank. If anything goes wrong they end up with an asset worth more than the loan. If it doesn't they make a load of profit on the interest. It's a no brainer. If I owned a bank, I'd be lending the money and hoping they went bust about 11 months into the term.
Crump have you ever heard of Anglo Irish Bank ?

Rosco, if they get the 300 mil they need, the bank will charge them huge amounts of intrest which for the time being they can pay. Even if thy fail to keep up payments the bank will have an asset they could easily sell for 300 mil. And will still have made a profit fromthe deal. And with regards to hicks isn't it his company and not him who's bankrupt. Plus he has just set up another company for this very situation.
I don't agree with the value of the club point, that's exactly the premise that the housing bubble and subsequent financial crisis was built on.

Fair enough on the rest, we'll see what happens.

You said this on your earlier thread:
"Great forum you have here. Been reading threads for a while so thought I would join. "
Somebody fairly enough gives you stick and you get whiney.

Re: The Countdown to October 6

I agree with Ross. I just cant see how any financial institution would lend any money to a company who's current owners are being told they have already by lent too much by their current lenders. The only way would be, as Ross states, in the way of sub-prime finance with extortionate interest rates. Given we can't afford to pay our interest now it makes no sense whatsoever.

Re: The Countdown to October 6

We should all merge minds. Noetic science and The Ancient Mysteries say that if we all think positive at the same time it can actually affect reality. So at 15 mins today all think "goal for Liverpool" and, we should score within a minute or so.

Re: The Countdown to October 6

Quite. Simply pointing to the sky-high interest H and G would be charged fails to take into account the fact that any lending institution does actually want its money paid back eventually.

Re: The Countdown to October 6

Rumours on our beloved RAWK the owners have found a US bank willing to refinance them
