Had DIC bought us we'd be in the shit too. Not that moores & parry knew that, but worth mentioning.

Only pretend shit. Not real stinky shit like this stuff.

I bet DIC would have been able to find new investors to take the club on though.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

And there'd be more of a status symbol aspect to it all - especially after the Man City acquisition

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Defo, DIC would have given it to someone's nephew who had a spare billion and a love of orange women with fake eyelashes.

DIC may well have run out of money, but i highly doubt they'd have been as poisonous as these 2. i'm not sure if they'd have loaded the debt onto the club. they certainly wouldn't have fallen out amongst themselves and created a toxic atmosphere around the club. and i highly doubt they'd be clinging on so desperately now having refused point blank to take a decent profit when offered.

That looks more and more like a dreadfully stupid mistake by Hicks and Gillett, driven by their slobbering greed.

You know it.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

I doubt the DIC would have put 100% of the sale back on the club, I doubt that very much indeed. 20%. 40%. 50%, maybe, but not the whole lot.

the thing is, that doesn't actually bother me much as long as it's just a wheeze to claim tax relief on the interest and the owners have the means and willingness to put the money back into the club to compensate. H&G haven't, and i think one way or the other DIC would have.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

We might have had a new home to move to had DIC took over tho.

We don't need owners with never ending amounts of cash all tho it would be great.

We simply need someone to come in clear the debt get the new ground built and in the meantime give the manager who ever he maybe enough cash to be able to buy players good enough to compete. All money from player sales should be added to any budget given at the start of the year.

We have one of the biggest fan bases in the world and before maybe the last two years we have failed to take full advantage of this.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

I've stopped going to the game and stopped buying anything official until they're gone.

It's terrible what's happening.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

I wonder what percentage of the performance based Standard Chartered sponsorship money we are currently receiving based on being in a relegation place.

Any word from the emergency meeting?

Breaking news, I'm hearing reports that the prosciutto wrapped asparagus is delicious, and you'd better grab them quick because Hicks is a fatty.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Wait... false alarm all, they are bringing out another tray. I REPEAT. THEY ARE BRINGING OUT ANOTHER TRAY.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Still nothing in the media, I take it? From journalists who make their living by finding this sort of info?

They often make a living talking complete shit and making up random stuff when ever we are concerned.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Nothing. And because I'm a huge geek at the moment, nothing in any of the other sites I lurk on to check for news either. YNWA, RAWK, TLW, TIA and EST. Strange.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

It's more to do with that I'm currently home in paternal leave and off work. Will be back in a couple of weeks now, and won't have time for the same internet surfing in the evenings.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Rumours gathering tonight we may have new owners before the Everton game. Of course, it's probably bollocks like everything else of late.
