I guess so. my first love is to liverpool and so I will always think a player is lucky to have liverpool rather than the other way round regardless of how talented. maybe gerrard is looking at his trophy haul and thinking he'd have more if he moved when he was younger, instead I'd hope he'd feel pride for being the captain of his local club and was able to win 'some' silverware, look at shearer and le tiss.

In fairness I don't think Steven Gerrard has ever complained or expressed any regret about staying at Liverpool so he might well feel exactly as you do. And I'm sure Carra has never even contemplated leaving.

I seem to have upset a lot of people with my opening post, not my intention at all. my thinking is like this

1. I have a lot of respect for carra and gerrard
2. I don't buy into the 'one man team' or 'surrounded by dross' you win or lose as a team.
gerrard may be head and shoulders above his peers but his peers gave him the ball, finished chances he created and defended our penalty box to allow him to win trophies, djimi traore cleared the ball off the line in the CL final.
3. gerrard is only missing one medal from his collection, how many players can say that?

maybe from now on when someone says we were kept amoung the elite single handidly by gerrard I should just bite my bite and ignore the comment.

No don't do that Neil. Threads wouldn't be anywhere near as much fun without you!

I think you had a valid point personally regarding not being a one man team but at the same time I can see that Gerrard could very easily have been more successful than he has been but has chosen to stay at Liverpool.

I knew what you meant and could see where you were coming from, it wasn't that far from the truth really, we did have good players but there were also times when the team didn't have enough in the tank to get the win and he'd come up trumps time and time again, like alot of good players do in teams with players that aren't as good. We weren't a one man team but we were heavily reliant on him dragging us out the shit at times.

I said a few weeks ago that if Gerrard and Suarez don't turn up, Liverpool don't turn up.

I guess its still the case.

Nowadays it's all about Suarez, I don't think the people in charge are aware of it.
Some say "we don't need another player like Suarez" I say we need at least 2 more.

We just need some intelligent footballers on the pitch.

Fucking Downing and Henderson out wide were balls. Should've started Maxi and Kuyt. Given the attacking abilities of Glenjo and Jose, they'd (Maxi and Kuyt) have been able to create some intelligent interplay with Suarez and come inside more often ( with effect ).

Kuyt was shite when he came on. As bad as Henderson.

I fail to see how we would have been better when downing and enrique wasted crosses, or their crosses were wasted

There's no mobility in the middle. Suarez was off form and no one took the mantle as primary playmaker
