He should obviously start against Villa but we still need to bring in another midfieder. We need competition and a bigger squad with more quality.
If the interceptions league is one of the areas you judge Lucas on, then his finish of 17th, 16th, 71st and 45th in previous seasons isnt exactly impressive.

He's also 4th in the most fouls pr game league fwiw.

What prejudice? They're both as bad as eachother at the minute, everyone made a decision on Cissokho after one game, Johnson's been garbage for ages but keeps getting a reprieve from everyone.

"It's ok son, you've been shite for a year, but go play on the left instead". That's fair.

If Flanno was fit I'd have in there ahead of all of them.

I don't think he will, we'll give a different youth a chance against them. We won't see Smith until close to the end of the season, if at all.

The general theme seems to be, play the best performing youth for a game or two, make them realise how much more work they need to do. Send them off to work on their game for a few months, then hopefully they'll come back ready to play more consistently.

At least that's my theory anyway.
