coutinho top of the midfield 3 i guess , interesting to see how it goes .
I reckon green might have won.
They surrender.
(geek joke, I suspect only one or two will get the reference)
I have a bad feeling about this one
But the first two players I mentioned in most post, Suarez and Sturridge, weren't, we can live without Coutinho every now and again when we have those two playing. Players should start based upon form, Coutinho has been good, but Sterling has been better, simple.I might sound like a dick now, but who did we bring on against Oldham after 45 minutes? Lucas and...
Why did we do this? Let me remind you that Sterling and Hendo were on the pitch.
With Gerrard behind yeah.will that be coutiniho in the middle alongside hendo then?
4-0 by half time then get on lucas for gerrard to sure up the middle of the park
I admire the optimismi'm backing coutinho to get a goal today ...well hopefully .
Gotta watch Villa on the counter attacks though, Benteke, Weimann and Idboneawhore are all good enough to create some trouble
10/10 Brendan, great selection.
Confirmed #LFC team v Aston Villa: Mignolet, Johnson, Cissokho, Skrtel, Toure, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Coutinho, Sturridge, Suarez
Hindsight's such a great thing.
That performance has put to bed the main 4 starting a game together then, especially with Gerrard starting aswell.
He's 7th in the most interceptions won league and has the 3rd best pass completion rate in the team.
He should obviously start against Villa but we still need to bring in another midfieder. We need competition and a bigger squad with more quality.
If the interceptions league is one of the areas you judge Lucas on, then his finish of 17th, 16th, 71st and 45th in previous seasons isnt exactly impressive.
He's also 4th in the most fouls pr game league fwiw.
I read those stats on twitter. At least I thought I did anyway. My mistake if they're wrong.
I couldn't have been anymore right about the assertion that Lucas was critical to the result.
Had I been manager of us yesterday, we'd have won the game.
