£16 million according to the Guardian..

Liverpool have formalised their interest in Alberto Moreno with an offer worth £16.2m (€20m) for the Sevilla left-back, according to reports in Spain.

Brendan Rodgers has prioritised a new left-back for this summer and having considered an approach to Chelsea for Ryan Bertrand, has made Moreno his preferred option. The 21-year-old enjoyed a fine season with the Europa League winners and has been included in Spain’s preliminary 30-man squad for the World Cup.

Moreno has been linked with several clubs in recent months, including Chelsea, Napoli, who had an offer rejected in January, and Real Madrid. Marca reported last week that Moreno wants to join the new European champions, who are expected to part company with Fábio Coentrão this summer, and that Sevilla may delay a decision until after the World Cup, should he make the final cut under Vicente del Bosque.

But Liverpool have moved first with a formal offer for the left-back as they attempt to secure proven quality for next season’s return to the Champions League. The Anfield club’s bid is believed to be worth €20m in total, a figure that includes the midfielder Suso as a makeweight. The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at the La Liga side Almería.

Liverpool are continuing to negotiate with Bayer Leverkusen and Southampton for Emre Can and Adam Lallana respectively, although the south coast club’s £30m valuation on the England international is prohibitive. A deal for Can, the Germany Under-21 midfielder, is also complicated. Liverpool have informed Leverkusen they will meet the £10m release clause in the 20-year-old’s contract but Bayer are hoping to convince Can to stay while Bayern Munich, who have a buy-back option on the player they sold for £4.5m last summer, want him to continue his development in Germany before re-signing him next year.

Lot of dollar, hope the gaffer knows what he's doing. The last thing we need is another johnson at left back, letting the opposition attackers wander last him.
He's in the spain squad so can't be that shit. I've only seen him about 4-5 times and he's not stuck out (maybe that's a good thing with defenders) apart from the europa final where he was bollocks.

It's a shame that we didn't go for Felipe Luis when he was still at Deportivo. I suggested we sign him at the time and he's since gone on to become one of the best fullbacks around.

I read that Moreno favours a move to Real a couple weeks ago also. I guess with Contreao likely to leave they'll be in the market for a LB.

He looks a good prospect from the YouTube clip there and you can tell why Rodgers is after him. Like Tommyboy says I think Suso will turn into a super wee player and if we lose him permanently it'll be a huge mistake, although if it's just a loan deal then a year on loan to the Europa League winners can't harm his development. Offloading Johnson and Enrique could pretty much pay for this one.

Why does it seem like the most one-footed players in the game are almost always left backs?

Of course, there are (lots of?) good one-footed players, but I couldn't help but notice that he probably used his right foot twice in the entire clip.

I'm not just talking about shooting or passing - it's perfectly normal for a one-footed player to rely on the primary foot for these actions. Look at the clip and you'll see he stops the ball, traps it, goes into a tackle, attempts to block/intercept, kicks the ball forward and rushes after it, etc. all with his left foot only. Pretty bizarre even by Riise's one-footed standards. 😀 Towards the end, you'll see a part where he basically wanted to clear the ball but had to adjust his position so he could do it with his left foot.

Again, I know one-footedness is very common in the game and isn't necessarily a cause for alarm. I'm just quite amazed that he seems to be one-footed to the extreme.

Let's play a drinking game, we drink when Riise touches the ball with his right foot..

...everyone goes home sober

Heavily linked to Chelsea now

Shame his shooting sights went wonky in his last few seasons. That assist from Gerrard - the 5th goal in the clip at about the 1:20 mark - was simply outrageous.

I can honestly say I've never seen this guy play once in my life.

Therefore, I'd say he's nothing more than a tidy player who won't win matches in the way Coutinho or Sterling would.

We're linked with Felipe Luis aswell. Chelsea are after him so he might end up there.
The Moreno bid became very public from the Spanish end so I guess they want Real to show some interest.

If you actually want to get shitfaced... find an honest season review of Riise and down your drink every time he comes up against the opposition fullback, doesn't really know what to do and kicks it past him never getting the ball back.

If only he were Argentinean.

Another summer, another dollar, that's the story for Sevilla, as it looks like the Spanish club will once more cash in on strong performances by its players. It seems that history will repeat itself as many of the club's players have caught the eye this year. According to information that has reached MARCA, Liverpool have made an offer of €20 million plus Suso for Alberto Moreno.
This substantial offer means that it's more than likely that the youngster from Cerro del Águila will ply his trade at Anfield next season, since Sevilla are very interested in the deal. Almost everyone in Seville thought the youngster would move on in the summer, but the offer that has come in has surpassed even the most optimistic of expectations.
However, the club from the Nervión district of Seville knew that there was interest in the full-back, because last winter they turned down an offer of €14.5 million from Rafa Benítez's Napoli. "They'll give us more in summer", was the sensible response from the board. And they weren't wrong, because Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been following his progress for months.
Despite all the positive signs, though, nothing is certain yet. Both Mochi, the club's sporting director, and Unai Emery, the manager, are considering whether they are interested in Suso being involved in the transfer, and there are another couple of financial details to iron out.
Liverpool wanted to get in there ahead of other clubs, or a call up to the national squad by Vicente del Bosque that could inflate his price even further.

Or when he decided to shoot from 50 yards out.

Look this is harsh, Riise was good for us, and we've had many way shitter players. I just wasn't a fan.

Yea he was alright, just had a few limitations that didn't seem to improve with age.

He always seemed to appreciate being at the club and put the effort in too, plus the thought of him getting hit by Bellamy with a golf club is always hilarious.
