Liverpool bid £16mil for Alberto Moreno

You'll find him hiding on the right hand side of midfield.

Thats not fair of me .... I loved him

No Suso means that he still has a chance?

Last summer Sterling got given a chance to stick around and be part of the squad whereas Suso was fucked to relegation fodder in Spain. This time around we seem to have 20M burning a hole in our pockets to spend on a player that fits Suso's profile down to a tee.

I really like Suso and think it'd be a real shame if we didn't get something out of him but for a while now something has been telling me Rodgers doesn't fancy him. Hope I'm wrong.

I think it's a bit more complicated than that. I do believe that Rodgers wants to keep Suso around in a squad player role, but it all depends on him signing a new contract. If he does he stays. If he doesnt we'll flog him back to Spain.

I think it's just a case of him not maturing/improving quickly enough and Rodgers not having the time or patience to try to incorporate him in his favoured role, which is a shame because he could blossom there if given a chance, like Sterling got last Summer.

I hope he just ends up coming back in the Summer and playing his way into reckoning, it'd be great to see and despite the numbers we have in there, we would probably need the depth, if Lucas goes and Coutinho/Lallana (or whoever) cover the flanks also.

Well, Rodgers was also the first manager to give Suso the chance to start for the first team. He is clearly not blind to his strengths, but my guess is Suso's skill set simply translates better in Spain than in England.

And you're exactly right, we're looking to invest 20M or more in exactly Suso's position: AM/RW. That doesn't look like Rodgers is counting on him at all.

There's no one better than Skully at identifying players that were good 5 years ago. "Why aren't we buying him?!"

Because it's not 2009 Skully. Keep up.

I think Suso has on a couple of occasions talked about wanting to sign a new contract, and Rodgers is probably open to keeping him around and seeing how he develops either with another season on loan or with him playing a bench role.

I think we've made a mistake letting Suso's contract run down to its final year. We'll not be getting a decent fee for him if we decide to sell him now. Ideally for me, he signs a new contract and both the player and us have more flexibility in our positions. He gets the chance to impress, and we get the chance to see how he develops before deciding if we move him on.

Problem is whether Suso will seek guarantees on appearances before inking a contract extension. I'm not sure Rodgers will want to entertain that if that happens. If contract talks break down, we'll not be able to sell him for a decent fee given his contract status. If that transpires, I think the smart thing is to sell him really cheap now but with a proper sell-on or buy-back clause if we believe his stock will rise a lot more in future.

And
Of course, I'm not being impatient at all. We are already moving quicker in this transfer window than at any time in recent memory.
And faster than any other team in the PL. Who have United, Arsenal, City or Spurs signed ? I think Chelsea have done some business, or are about to.

Why has nobody posted the article from yesterday where he says he's happy at Sevilla?

I apologise for ruining everyone's fun by talking about the comments from the club President and player himself.

They're obviously irrelevant

This was on ESPN as well. Quotes and everything.

Coutinho hopeful of Inter stay

Liverpool target Philipe Coutinho insists he is hoping to stay at Inter Milan for the remainder of the season, despite speculation that the Premier League side have made a formal offer for the Brazilian.

Coutinho insists he is happy at Inter Milan

Coutinho, 20, has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield this month and widespread newspaper reports suggest Brendan Rodgers is hoping to recruit the midfielder in time for Liverpool's FA Cup trip to Oldham on Sunday.
It is believed Inter rejected a £6 million bid for Coutinho last week, but negotiations between the two clubs resumed on Monday, although the youngster claims he is happy in the Serie A.
"I don't feel that I'm on my way out," Coutinho told Sky Sport 24. "I hope to stay at Inter. I feel the coach and the club trust me. Now I'm focused only on doing my best in my job and getting back on the field soon.
"The offer from Liverpool? I’m happy for all these requests because it means that people like the work I’m doing, but I believe Inter have faith in me and I want to show what I’m worth here. We young players – myself, Juan Jesus, Benassi, Bessa and others – can sense the confidence that the coach and club have in us. All my thoughts are on recovering soon and coming back."
Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez handed Coutinho his first-team debut at Inter in 2010 and he made a strong impression while on loan to Spanish side Espanyol last season.
