Liverpool FC today announced they are entering into a four-year partnership agreement with Chevrolet to become its Official Automotive Partner.

http://www.chevroletfc.com/

The partnership runs to the end of the 2015-16 Barclays Premier League and European campaigns, and includes visibility for the brand at Anfield, Liverpool's home ground; editorial opportunities within the club's print and digital publications and fan sites; and player appearances for commercial opportunities.
Chevrolet is also an official sponsor for the club's pre-season tour, one of the most popular in the world, which has already seen Liverpool play Toronto FC last Saturday. Liverpool will play Italian giants, AS Roma tomorrow at Fenway Park in Boston and on 28 July they will play English Premier League rivals, Tottenham Hotspur in Baltimore.

Chris Perry, global Chevrolet marketing vice president, said: "Liverpool supporters from around the world are known for their undying love of their side. Our relationship with Liverpool FC extends beyond the traditional boundaries of sponsorship and is about engaging with supporters. Everything we do will be aimed at keeping them at the centre of the game."
Ian Ayre, managing director of Liverpool Football Club, said: "Much like our club, Chevrolet has a long, rich history with a growing, global brand and this landmark partnership once again demonstrates the value of Liverpool's international appeal.
"Partnerships with blue chip brands like Chevy will help ensure the long-term growth and success of our club, both on-and-off the pitch. We look forward to working closely with Chevy to help reach and engage our supporters, who are among the most passionate and educated fans in the world."

After seeing his video diary, sponsor events and this, I guess Cole is in Rodgers plans. As back up I hope.

Ffs, could've gotten a decent car make at least.

I'd have preferred something 'ordinary' like Ford to fucking Chevrolet.

We literally can't give the cunt away that's why.

I just can't seem him doing well, hope in wrong. I hope he plays the eufa cup games.

Does this mean we'll get those Recaro style seats on the bench but with a Chevy logo?

Much like the club, Chevy in recent years have been putting a shite substandard product.

General Motors and Manchester United today announced that the world's most popular football club's shirt sponsor will be Chevrolet, beginning with the 2014/2015 season.

Chevrolet, the current Official Car Partner of the Club, will become only the fifth shirt sponsor in the Club’s 134 year history.

Announcing the deal, signed for an undisclosed amount, United’s Commercial Director, Richard Arnold, said:

“This is a fantastic, long-term deal for the Club. We have been partners with Chevrolet for only six weeks, but already they have produced some fantastic ideas that will benefit both the partnership and our 659 million followers around the world. They are a key partner on our current tour and I know they have enjoyed experiencing the buzz generated by our fanatical support and the sell-out crowds in South Africa, China, and Europe.

"It is a great thrill for those of us who work with partners all year round when an existing partner steps up to being one of our principal partners. This commitment to United and its fans will bring real benefits to everyone who cares about the Club.”

The US-based car company will replace Aon, whose partnership with United began in the 2010/11 season.

Alan Batey, General Motors’ North America Vice President, U.S. Sales and Service said:

“We are extremely proud to connect our brand, Chevrolet, with Manchester United and its passionate supporters all around the world. Manchester United’s statistics are impressive, but this relationship goes far beyond the numbers – this relationship is about connecting our brand with the deep-seated emotion that surrounds the team everywhere it goes.

Man Utd Smashes Shirt Sponsorship Record

Last Updated 13:50 04/08/2012
Manchester United's seven-year shirt sponsorship deal with General Motors' Chevrolet brand is worth a record-breaking $559m (£357m), it has been revealed.

This works out at almost $80m (£51m) a year, more than double the £19.6m insurer Aon is now paying to have its brand on the Premier League team's shirts.

The news comes as fans opposed to the club's flotation in New York called for a boycott of sponsors' products to put pressure on the US owners to ditch the plan.

The Manchester United Supporters Trust (Must) has accused the Glazer family of hurting the team's performance by saddling it with debt in a £790m takeover in 2005.

It has also been angered after the Glazers said they would raise up to $167m (£106m) themselves in the flotation after initially saying all the proceeds would be used to cut the debt.

GM announced the Chevrolet sponsorship deal on Monday, hours after saying that Joel Ewanick, its chief marketing officer, had "failed to meet the expectations that a company has of an employee" and was leaving.

Man Utd then revealed the Chevrolet agreement figures on Friday in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing as part of the club's planned initial public offering of stock.

Chevrolet takes over from Aon starting in the 2014-15 season.

The deal smashed the previous record set by the Qatar Foundation’s sponsorship of Barcelona, worth $39.1m (£25m) a year.

Man Utd, which is estimated to have 659 million global followers - almost one in 10 of the population - said it will receive $70m (£44m) during the first season of the new deal.

This will rise by 2.1% a year until it ends in the 2020-21 season.

As recently as 2006, Vodafone was paying only about £8m a year to sponsor the club's kit.

It was followed by AIG, which paid £14.1m a year between June 2007 and June 2010.

Wow £51m per year

That cant be true can it 51 millon pounds a year. Holy fuck, tobe honest I dont like shirt sponsorship I think it cheapens the jersey and Id like to see it removed from the game because its just one more way for the top clubs to keep the playing field totally uneven. Its also the reason I havent bought or worn a jersey in well over a decade, if clubs must go the sponsor route then fine put it on the players jerseys but to ask fans to walk around a billboard for some corporate shitheads is too much

Nope this is not happening. I'd be gob smacked if this happened.

GM just got a big wad of cash (close to 30 billion if i remember right) from the govt as Bail out in 2009...and Obama is still getting shit over it. It's also one of Romney's weapon to attack Obama with...

http://useconomy.about.com/od/criticalssues/a/auto_bailout.htm

GM haven't been doing as well as Ford in terms of financial results either.

I still remember the stunt the CEO's of the three major car manufacturers pulled at the time when they were lobbying for the bailout package. They all shared a compact car with the CEOs taking turn to drive....from Detroit to Washington!!!

This deal simply doesn't sit well with all that.....there are better cost effective ways to reach consumers.

Yeah, fuck wow.

Biggest cunts on the planet spawn biggest cunt deal on the planet from biggest cunt sponsors on the planet.

Who'd have fucking guessed?

Well most of the anti-cunts and those who haven't sold their souls to Satan is my guess.

The FA obviously integral in this deal, good to spread the decent intrinsic worth of corruption and Ferguson kowtowing arse-licking fuckwittery to the rest of the IQ deficient population of planet Earth.

Miles better: United's Chevrolet deal is reportedly worth £25m a season

The General Motors executive who agreed a record shirt sponsorship deal with Manchester United worth a staggering £175million has been sacked.
Global marketing chief Joel Ewanick was axed less than 48 hours after it was announced the Chevrolet badge would be emblazoned on the United shirt from next season.
The agreement will net the Reds £25million a year for the duration of the seven-year contract.
But GM executives were furious when they learned their company would be paying £6m a year more than United’s current shirt sponsors Aon.
It has also been claimed Ewanick failed to give his bosses the full details of the sponsorship before signing the deal.
GM have assured the Old Trafford club that they will not renege on the agreement.
But Ewanick’s removal is still a huge embarrassment for United.

Anyone think this marketing man may be getting a kick back from utd for a few years?

Hypothetically that would be one helluva scam.
