I barely know anything about this keeper, except that he plays for Brommapojkarna in Swedish football's top tier.
Highly rated by some, not even close to playing for the national team.

There's rumours about Doni leaving in the summer and Hansen has also declared that he's gone, so he's probably our 2nd/3rd choice keeper.

??????

Just read this on his wiki:

Nordfeldt began his career in Brommapojkarna. The club is famous for its youth academy and is considered to be one of the largest clubs in the world.

We have apparently been keeping our eyes on him for a couple of years.

Has Doni played a single minute?

I'd like to take a minute to thank Comolli for answering all of our prayers.

To be honest I don't really follow Swedish football, only what I catch in the sports pages. But he did play for them, didn't know that his contract had ended.

Used to hate that team. They poach the best players in Sweden, even took one of our better players when we beat them.
Mind you I was about 14 years old.
They've also destroyed a lot of kids chances of making it in football. Our player became a fringe player in their team.
A lot of my friends have purposely avoided joining that team despite the offering first team football etc. (this was later on)

In this Swedish article, Mikael Linder, says "move sounds like a hell of a long shot" (translated).

Linder, who has been scouting for Liverpool for 16 years rebuffed his agent's claim that he has been scouted for the past 2 yrs but "you should never say never. We looked for goalies sometimes that you needed as a third-or fourth goalkeeper. (translated)" and Nordfeldt signing for Liverpool would be "a real surprise. A big surprise."

Old Swedish article on Scandinavian scout Mikael Linder: http://liverpoolfc.nu/news/reportage/scandinavian_scout.pdf - but he left the club last Jun after 23 yrs, having played a part in the purchase of Riise, Hyypiä and Agger according to this article: http://liverpoolfc.nu/news/?19898

After spending a period with out a club following his departure from IF Brommapojkarna, Kristoffer Nordfeldt is preparing to sign for Liverpool on Monday.

In an interview with FotbollDirekt.se, the goalkeeper stated: ”It’s really exciting. I fly to Liverpool with my agent on Monday.”

He added: “Of course it feels good but I would not go away just for this. It is about trying to be cool so we’ll see what they want to offer me.”

The Swedish international has attracted European interest from across Europe for the past two seasons with Ajax, Borussia Monchengladbach and Sampdoria all monitoring his situation.

Nordfeldt has made over 100 appearances for Brommapojkarna but it now appears that the 22 year-old is looking to take his career to the next level of the English top flight.

The youngster has made 16 appearances for the Swedish Under-21 national team and has impressed enough to earn his first cap for the senior side in 2011.

The Swedish website also spoke to the player’s agent, Oliver Cabrera, who said: ”The interest is concrete. Absolutely. They have followed him for two years and have always kept in touch. As I understand it, things keep changing on the goalie side of the club and he is primarily intended for the summer and next season.”

The acquisition of the Swedish international could signal the Anfield departure of Doni, who is reportedly wanting a move back to his native and Sao Paulo.

Kristoffer Nordfeldt has revealed that he is having talks with Liverpool tomorrow.

The Swedish goalkeeper once attracted interest from the likes of Ajax and Borussia Monchengladbach but has been without a club since leaving IF Brommapojkarna last year.

He will meet with Anfield chiefs regarding a possible deal with the Reds resigned to seeing Alexander Doni end his short-lived spell with the club by securing a move away.

But contrary to reports last week, a return to his homeland with Sao Paolo is unlikely with former Palermo stopper Rubinho considered the preferred option since becoming a free agent.

Doni is currently the only player in Liverpool's squad who has yet to make a senior appearance for the club this season, having arrived as Pepe Reina's understudy last summer.

The 32-year-old secured his protracted free transfer to Anfield from Roma, where he spent six years initially as first-choice before being displaced by Artur and Julio Sergio respectively.

With first team opportunities limited at Liverpool, he is seeking a move onto pastures new with Catania previously enquiring about his availability ahead of Tuesday's transfer window deadline.

Doni's impending departure will pave the way for Nordfeldt's potential arrival with the 22-year-old's goalkeeping attributes likened to Manchester United and Spain stopper David de Gea. 😱

"It's really exciting. I'll be flying to Liverpool on Monday with my agent," Nordfeldt told FotbollDirekt.se.

"Of course it feels good but I don’t want to get overexcited because of this. I’ll just try to play it cool and see what they want to offer me.

"I know myself and have worked hard these last few months. I know that Liverpool likes me and has watched me for a long time. They like me so all I can do is believe in myself."

Good. It's such a relief that we no longer risk going out of cups just to placate some flabby-arsed time-server who is too bloody grand to actually play matches for the reserves and earn a chance in the first team.
