Ashley Young suspended for Villa after 5 yellow cards.

Liverpool

Provisional squad: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Konchesky, Lucas, Meireles, Kuyt, Rodriguez, Torres, Ngog, Jones, Aurelio, Kelly, Poulsen, Cole, Babel, Jovanovic, Pacheco.

Aston Villa

Provisional squad: Friedel, Guzan, L Young, Collins, Dunne, Cuellar, Warnock, Bannan, Clark, Hogg, Downing, Agbonlahor, Ireland, Pires, Bannan, Carew, Delfouneso, Lichaj, Lowry, Johnson.

We can only assume this is the team then:
Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Konchesky, Lucas, Meireles, Kuyt, Rodriguez, Torres, Ngog

I watch a fair bit of Villa and they're not very good at all at the moment. Ireland hasn't found his feet at all, Downing is hugely erratic, Young is more limited than people like to believe, Agboglahor is shit if given any time to think, although his pace has to be watched, and Carew is only any threat if the rest of the side is playing well. He's not the sort to make something for himself.

Bannan looks a player though. Full of drive, enthusiasm and passion.

Their away record is: LWLLDDL
Home record: DDDWDL

We should batter this lot. No excuses.

man, i fucking hate seeing konchesky in our team every game, it's so depressing. have we ever signed anyone so incredibly obviously not a Liverpool player? even pennant had a bit of buzz around him as a youngster, but cuntch is, was, always will be a journeyman, at best. £5m, fucking hell.

Yeah, Gerry. Would've guessed so too. Perhaps Cole to come in latter stages of the game to continue his return to match fitness.

Being at home, surely we've got to capitalise on Villa's injury crisis (albeit recovering) and suspension of Young, even with the absence of Gerrard and Carra.

I have a feeling we'll start well and get an early goal which will give us confidence and should see us score 3 or 4. We made lots of chances at WHL, lets see if we can carry that on but with more ruthlessness infront of goal
