I think i need to take pre match thread responsibility back.
Tough line up to choose - i expect United will go for a midfield 3 to fight. I’m not convinced that Thiago Gini & Hendo can be a trio but i think it’s our best option to try.
Part of me wants Shaq to start but don’t see any deviation from that norm.

I wouldn't start Trent in this to be honest. Even when he's at his best he's still got issues defensively. At the moment he's having a stinker so I doubt he'd be able to cope with Utd's wingers.
I'd keep Firmino out of this also. He's shite at the moment and offers not much. I'd love to see Shaq start alongside Mo and Sadio.
If Matip is fit he plays, no question because hes miles better than any other option we have. For me Trent is probably the biggest question mark at the moment, you can see hes struggling and this is not a game for passengers. Is Neco or Milner a better option than a half cooked Trent?
As for Utd they really have 2 players that concern me, Fernandes obviously because hes the one that makes them tick, if he gets time and space he will kill us with through passes for Rashford and Martial out wide. A high tempo congested midfield is exactly what he doesnt want so Id expect one of Gini and Hendo to be stuck to him like glue anf give him zero peace.
The other one that Im concerned by is Cavani, hes a proper no9 who will look to battle our centre backs all day. Hes smart strong in the air and a lethal finisher, the high line wont suit as he doesnt have the legs to tuen and run into space him but hes good enough be an outlet for them to bring their runners into play.
I dont think the stodgy 70% posession game will work here as Utd are built to drag teams in and hit on the break with pace which theyve got in abundance. They can be got at it but we need to move the ball into the front 3 much much faster before the defence locks into formation, if you can hit them early they are a shambles because Pogba and Fernandes dont run the hard yards and they really dont have good fullbacks or a good defensive organiser. They are fucking huge though so floated crosses and set pieces are going to be a total waste of energy, quick passes into space and they will be struggling in one on ones.
