If we lose to a team we bought three players from this summer after finishing several places above them last season then we are laughed at. Comfortable win here 3 - 0 Sturridge x2, Coutinho

I think we'll utterly destroy them. There's a lot of pent up frustration in this team, and we've bought well. We'll fucking smash them.

I'm going for 4-0.

We're going to send a message to the rest of the league that we're bona fide title challengers again this season.

Lambert to come on and get the 4th.

I think we'll win but for some reason I'm uneasy about predicting a big win. I'm not usually superstitious but it just feels wrong this time.

2-1

BR: Flanagan is still in rehab, Lallana out still but both will start training the week after next. Markovic unavailable this weekend.
BR: Daniel Agger also unavailable, but they’re our only casualties for the Southampton game.

This has potential to be a banana skin.

We buy saints best players and they then turn up with nothing to loose and nick a win draw/win

Brendan Rodgers has provided an injury update on a quartet of Liverpool players ahead of the opening match of the new Barclays Premier League season, against Southampton.

The Reds kick off their 2014-15 campaign at home to the Saints this Sunday and the manager could report no fresh injury concerns from within his squad before the encounter.

He did, however, offer the latest on the respective conditions of those already on the sidelines - namely Daniel Agger, Jon Flanagan, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic.

"Young Jon Flanagan is still in rehab, but coming along very well," Rodgers told reporters at his pre-match press conference. "Adam Lallana is looking very well.

"Those two will probably start training with the group in the week beginning with Manchester City.

"Young Markovic is still unavailable this weekend but doing very well.

"Daniel Agger has had an ongoing injury so he is unavailable; apart from that, everyone else is fine."

Isn't Sky Sports having a "free to all" day tomorrow?
