He sure did. Gerrard was another recent vintage who smacked in some absolute screamers from range. Suarez too.
Can't really think of too many others from when I started watching. McMahon and Molby could certainly belt them in, but it's hard to recall how many there actually were, they just get repeated so often

I've never seen anyone with a highlight reel of screamers like Gerrard. Ridiculous really. Coutinho turned into a beast from range too, but Gerrard must have the best goals compilation ever. Maybe Messi and Ronaldo aside, due to their sheer volume of goals.

I’ve never seen a better striker of the ball from distance than Gerrard. There was no defense against those rockets. And it’s not like he was taking a ton of shots from distance in every game and wasting his team’s attacking efforts - but the shots he did take usually hit the target.
Easily the best for long distance screamers. Some of those are just astonishing. Anything to 30m was fair game and impossible to defend against.

Gerrard’s goal against Boro is one of the best I’ve ever seen.
Like 39 are penos (he only missed one) but almost every goal is a beaut. He scored an outrageous goal against us at Anfield back in like 89 or 90.
Just watched them again. Is there anyone in the league, or the world right now, who can hit it like that? Neves is close, maybe? Is it a dying art, like the mid range jumper?
Neves is a bang average, inconsistent, wasteful player.
The press bang on about his occasional shots cos they look great, but don't show you how many miss, & the rest of the time he's just massively inconsistent.
