I saw quite a bit of Anderson, and TBH don't understand what you are all on about. He did nothing all season. Name a game where he made a decent impact.
He was the best midfielder on display when they won at Anfield.

Look, I don't want to get into a discussion praising a Manc player. But I saw Anderson have a few good games last year, I've yet to see Lucas have a similar impact, in any game. That's not to say he isn't a good prospect.
How many local derby's did Anderson win? How many assists has he had?

Lucas way out-performed Anderson last year, like I say point me to something other than "he had a few good (but unidentified) games".

You are buying into the manc hype.
Anderson had an excellent first season, and if you're gonna say 'how many derbies did Anderson win' that's a bit stupid when the simple reply would be 'how many league titles did Lucas win'?

It's not about Manc hype, I think they have plenty of other players they hype up and cream over, he's way down the list, but he was very good last season.

18mil for Anderson or 5mil for Lucas? Anderson is clearly the better player and you'd be daft to think otherwise.

i consider you daft for automatically assuming that money equals talent

I'm not "automatically" always assuming money=talent I'm just saying in this scenario theres a reason SAF went after Anderson instead of Lucas even though there was a huge price difference.
AF also bought Veron, Kleberson etc. makes no difference, you fool

Substantiate him having an "excellent" season. Thats all I'm asking. I saw him several times, he wasn't up to much, he didn't win any games for them, got bugger all goals and assists. Yet for some reason you want to big him up. Your call, but at least try to back it up with something other than sarcasm.

Talking of stupid. Do you think Anderson had as much affect on Manure winning the league as Lucas did us winning the derby? ???

I agree. I sawa potential in him, but no an awful lot more. Especially considering his price tag.

Anderson was excellent in the first game against us and woeful in the second. His season was hit and miss but when on form he showed more than Lucas, who was largely average.

edit: obviously let's hope that Lucas takes his game to the next level this season and can maintain it.

yeah, but ur logic is daft again. Ferguson feeds off of the Portugese league now. He got Anderson for a lot more money cause to him the money means little, it is the reputation that comes from playing in a European league that he wanted. Lucas had the hype in Brazil but that never equates to quite as much money for similar extremely young players. Also look at the quality of teams they came from so the hype is according. But I think Lucas is better than Anderson without being a flashy trick pony that attracts a lot of cash.

All right. As a general rule in life you pay for what you get. A pair of $5 dollar shoes is not going to be the same quality as a pair of $50 dollar shoes. Likewise in football your generally going to pay more for more quality players. That's why Ribery is worth 25mil and Pennant is worth 5mil (just in case you didn't get it).

And this is why Lucas is worth 5mil and Anderson is worth 18mil.

I wasn't talking about the $ stuff. I am pretty sad, I watch a lot of football, I watch manure, arsenal and chelsea games as well as LFC.

Anderson has not even come close to the highs that Lucas set last year. You implied I was daft for thinking lucas was better than anderson. I want you to back that up, as I don't think I am daft and think that either a) you're a manc, b) you get your opinions from the press, or, c) you are daft!

I've come to the conclusion that everyone must be talking about a different Lucas.
This is getting quite embarrassing.

George Lucas?

They're two very different type of players though, and to compare them has, well no point really.

Paying 18 or 5 mill doesn't represent or prove anything about their talents. If this was true, most of Wengers signings would be labeled decent prospects.

Oh yes the highs Lucas set. Get real. Lucas has done well but your talking him up like he is the "new Gerrard". Give me a break. Lucas can become a very good player but based on current ability I would choose Anderson every time. Anderson offers decisive attacking intent, flair and he can perform in multiple positions.

Oh the manc insult! Don't dare question my allegiance!

I'm a Liverpool supporter and I'm certainly not a manc just because I don't agree with you or don't pick our player over there player. You sound like a schoolboy with your black or white mentality.

I'm not going to suggest that Lucas is better than Anderson, but the latter has yet to prove he is a "class above". People do get blinded by the club the player is at - he's good but he's not been that good.

Lucas also has a marginally better haircut.

BTW Out of interest please list me the games that you have seen anderson play.

Short list i'm sure.

Both have had promising first seasons, nothing more really.

Anderson has more potential, but is his current value 2-3 times more than lucas? Even the utd fans i know don't think he is.

Value for money: Lucas
Player with most potential: Anderson.

Anderson has more potential, but is his current value 2-3 times more than lucas? Even the utd fans i know don't think he is.

Value for money: Lucas
Player with most potential: Anderson.

Lot of words there mate. I chose to ignore most of them. You tell me Anderson is great, I questioned that as I have seen him loads of times. You don't seem to be able to back it up so you come up with a lot of words. Fair enough, no big suprise. So on what basis would you choose a manc over Lucas everytime? Just lookin for some facts mate. Like what games did he win for the mancs (remember the derby)?

Scary thing is there are more anderson fans on here than there are on red cafe.

Laterz Manc!

I would choose Anderson over Lucas for the Same reason I would choose Ronaldo over Quaresma. More potential, more skill and more quality.

Now let me know why you would prefer Lucas to Anderson. Just lookin for some facts mate. Like what games did he win for us (remember the Chelsea EPL game)?

Laterz Faggorz

Pete, you should be a LFC fan!
