Get him, and I bet Eriksen is ours ...

Liverpool have begun their search for a new manager following the board's decision to axe Kenny Dalglish earlier this week.

The Reds are believed to have a short-list of up to 12 people they want to talk to about succeeding Dalglish at Anfield.

Wigan's Roberto Martinez has already been given permission to enter discussions with Liverpool, while Swansea chief Brendan Rodgers declined the opportunity to hold talks with the Merseyside giants.

Danish icon Laudrup is thought to be in the frame for the post, with the 47-year-old believed to be keen to try his luck in England.

Former Barcelona and Real Madrid star Laudrup is highly-regarded in Europe as one of the best young managers around with his brand of exciting attacking style of play.

Laudrup worked as Morten Olsen's assistant with the Danish national side before he became head coach of Brondby in 2002.

After four succesful seasons he left Brondby for Getafe leading them to the final of the Spanish Cup and the quarter-finals of the old UEFA Cup.

Laudrup has since had spells with Spartak Moscow and Real Mallorca who he left last September.

Laudrup has been linked with a move to England in the past and the Dane is thought to have admirers inside the corridors of power inside Anfield as they look to bring in a new man to get the club back on track.

Him and Redondo was the finest pairing you could find in å Real shirt. Best Nordic player ever.... stuff like that.
But how a player plays isn't indicative to how he'll manage... and if we're to go along with your theory then you'll need Redondo to manage LFC as well.

Laudrup has done more manager-wise at this stage than the likes of Ferguson and Di Matteo had when they first arrived at their current job.

Sometimes it's not all to do with former managerial credentials mind but also how the person will match the task lying ahead, how players will react to their ideas and leadership, appearance, understanding of the game and so on.

Laudrup won the Danish trophy in his first job ever as a manager and then actually made quite a team out of a rather mediocre Getafe team. Got Granero and De la Red playing the best football of their career and made Getafe play like a team.

He's a winner, a gentleman and one who would make us look good, both on and off the pitch.

Come on, how can anyone not want him to lead us to glory?

I'm not sure about Laudrup. It's a risky choice IMO. He might convince Eriksen to join which is good but I'm not sure about him coming to Liverpool in our current situation.
Some rebuilding is required and Rafa has the most impressive CV compared to the other candidates.

Shut up, KHL !
This is the 'Make me happy'-thread mate not the 'Tell me to shut up' one. There've been loads of those elsewhere.

So either you pack it in or you post some tittays to make me feel happy.

Comprende amigo?

Looking at what managers have won only, rather than considering the character you're hiring is a bad idea. If you compare Benitez to Villas-Boas then obviously Benitez has a much better set of trophy wins to his name but when you consider the character, the snide attitude and petulance towards everything in the media compared to other managers who are much more prepared to admit their own shortcomings instead of blaming all and sundry else on results rather than yourself you'd have to pick a different manager.

Btw could we make this a monthly feature on here?

A 'Make KHL happy thread'.
