Man City vs Liverpool
Kick off: 12:30pm
Saturday 9th September
Etihad Stadium

Another fixture after an international week.
A quick assessment of the key players who were away. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Keepers.
Ming - Didn't play as far as I know.

Defenders:
TAA - only played in one of the two games the U21s had. 90 mins.

Gomez - 90 mins x2., captained England U21s

Lovren - 90 mins x2.

Robertson - 90 mins x2. Apparently at CB!?

Midfielders:
Henderson - 90 mins x2. Cap.

Can - Only played 10 mins in Germany's first game.

Wijnaldum - Both games, 90 mins x2. Two very tough games.

Attackers:
Salah - 90 mins x2. Complained about his knee after the first game. Still played the second game.

Mané - 90 mins x2.

Coutinho - played in both games. Subbed in the 87th in the first, played 15 mins in the second game.

Woodburn - played around 30 mins in both games.

Ox - 83 + 76 mins.

Strikers:
Firmino - 62 mins in Brazil's 2nd game.
Sturridge - unused sub in both of England's games.
Solanke - 70 mins + 20 mins.

Based on all that, we could see one or two changes to the line up, compared to the team we fielded against Arsenal.

TAA for Gomez?

Milner for Wijnaldum or Henderson?

Sturridge for Salah or Mané?

Draw 2-2.

I getting good vibe. I think we will kill them... 1-4. We will kill them...we will kill them. Its gonna be a great fuckingbknock out.

I don't think lots of games have too much of a bearing early in the season.

Strongest side possible as winning will put down a huge marker

No chance that Moreno isn't playing.

Lack of focus will be the reason why we lose this.

Too much media circus around coutinho and a lot of the squad just coming back from international duty straight into this mess.....I think we will lose. Hope I'm wrong.

I'd drop Wjinaldum, these are the kind of games where he usually doesn't turn up and he's had a tough international break so Milner in for him. Otherwise leave the team as is.

I'm not sure why there is so much confidence in our winning ?! City have the best midfield/attack in the league and against our defence of, likely, Lovren & Moreno !! If our attack take their chances 2-2, otherwise I can see us losing 2-1 / 3-1. Up to Klopp to mastermind something.

We have one of the fastest attacks in the league against a defence that isn't the greatest.

Its arguable if their attack is better than ours as we can definitely match them on that front. Sterling is suspended and i don't think they have the right balance up front when they play both jesus and aguero. Midfield is better than ours thats for sure, but both teams are shit defensively. Either way we normally have a good game against city as both teams play a open game.

I think he should be dropped but the counter argument would be he scored a winner against them, and he usually goes missing in physical games.
This game won't be physical it'll be all football and ball retention in tight spaces which he is good at. So if I was going to play away from home in a game then I would expect him to perform best against City.

Klopp has lost 1 out something like 26 games against the top 6.

Having said that the bookies have us at 4/1

City haven't actually been that impressive so far. Especially defensively.

I'm rarely confident, but I've got a good feeling

I'm feeling confident too, which almost certainly means we're getting our arses handed to us.

I'm at that Festival 6, but I'm told there are pubs in Portmadthingy. My mate got a house for the weekend and I've already explained it's unlikely that I'll actually go into the festival. Just get fully Withnail and I'd up.
