Unless Tony Barrett says that Mascher never wanted to leave, that he never said he had to leave for his wife's sake, that he never said going to Inter would be a dream and was taking Italian lessons, and that he didnt refuse to play against Citeh to force a move, I dont care.

I think im done with this thread now. Its obvious that no ones for changin.
Me i think hes a prick (as stated) those that dont......fair enough.

He's criminally underrated by some (see the lucas vs masher / sliding tackle / passing ability debates).

He's also a massive, massive cunt.

Life, and Liverpool FC, go on.

I loved that Mascher rubbed the CL win in the Scums face.

That was classy but makes him no less a cunt for forcing a move to Barca and screwing us in the process.

[/quote] You know Avvy, as I said earlier I was very disappointed that Masher tried to manufacture a move in the manner he did. Whatever about whether he did or didn't refuse to play against Man City all the other stuff was bang out of order either way.
While I can understand why people think of him as a cunt I find it hard to reconcile that with the player who gave so much for the club and even in his last match was MOM against Arsenal.
I think, in my mind it isn't really just about masher but how we treat the players who have left the club in bad circumstances.
We as fans only begrudge our best players moving on.
After all, nobody was burning Dossena's shirt when he left 😉

I guess I am simply saying that I am uncomfortable with players who have given great service to the club being called a cunt once they have moved on, well except for that cunt Torres.

I had a lot of sympathy for him when he spoke about wanting to leave for his wife;s sake.

I did the same thing when i came here (though it looks like that was a waste of my time).

It was all the later bullshit that grated.

How was it "classy"?

Fucked if I know.

At least someone thinks he's a classy cunt
