did not see the game but did notice that maxi was on the score sheet - as he was quite frequently during the final stages of last season. i think we should keep him.

I keep repeating myself every time there is a Maxi thread but I like his game intelligence, his one touch game and his ability to keep the ball moving. When we are playing well so is Maxi. He doesn't have any unique individual qualities (like pace or power)to impact the game on his own but he has guile and lately a knack of scoring.

He's been here since the end of January 2010. He was more than effective in the end of that season and a lot of our better play involved him. Then he barely had a look in under Hodgson and when he did like the rest of the team he looked wank. Under Dalglish he was brilliant in the last 5 months of the season.

Yep, which is is perfect for the system we play. When Gerrard isn't there we know we can generally rely on Ming, when both aren't there we still have Maxi (who can cover wide as well), it's a long way from how things have been in recent years.
