So we beat the Gooners, should've beaten Utd and beat Chelsea.

Yet we cant beat Sunderland, Norwich, Stoke or Swansea.

When teams bring their game to us we are more than capable of beating them, when they park the bus infront of the goal we struggle, big time. An intelligent player like Maxi is exactly the sort of player ( in the short term ) who should be starting these games and adding a bit of creativity and intelligence. Likewise Bellamy.

Bar a few sloppy passes today, Maxi created space and contributed alot, including the goal obv.

I really, really hope that the powers that be see this and give Suarez, Bellamy and Maxi more time together. As so far this season, he's been left out in the cold.

Missing piece of the jigsaw is what we need
Someone to unlock 'the defences when they come to anfield

Dropped points have been due to poor finishing but there is a case to say Maxi would improve that

Nah, sell him !

That'll complete a hattrick :-X

In the last 2 LFC wins away at Chelsea, the winner was scored by a player who left the club the next summer (Xabi Alonso, Raul Meireles)

Maxi's important to us, more important now then ever.

He has got very good basic skills and a smart brain on him, and we lack a lot of that in the final third.

He didnt score the winner Binny. 😉

Would like to see Maxi, Suarez and Downing with Carroll as a spearhead.

With both Maxi & Johnson on large contracts, and FSG looking to cut the wage bill, I think our insistence on playing Downing & Henderson (and to a lesser extent Kelly) has not only been because of the mental money we spent on them, but also to see how we would fair without them.

Badly, is the answer.

Yesterdays team was basically the same that we finished last year with except for Bellers for Ming, and Enrique for Aurelio & Adam for Spearing. Our 'Big' buys haven't performed and I'm sure that hasn't gone un-noticed.

I think he gives us what we miss without Meireles, intelligent movement in and around the penalty area.

Hes just a very good 'footballer' and the more of them we have in the team the better.
Hes played 2 and a half games in all comps and scored 2 goals. Because hes an intelligent 'footballer'

Maxi has been hard done by this season and as one of our best players under Kenny last yea has deserved a bit better imo. He offers quickness of thought and clever interplay and a goal threat.
And dont give me all that 'Oh if it wasnt for all those goals what does he offer us' shit. He offers a lot more than Downing thats what.

It was nice to see Kenny brave it yesterday and make a few bold decisions, though to be fair he hasn't been afraid to drop Carroll so far. Downing hasn't been performing for us and despite his good game for England it was time to give him a breather. Same with Henderson too, he's had a good impact from the bench but when he's started it's been clear to everyone that he's struggling. Good stuff, it's just a shame that the reality is we've got three players there worth £70m that don't look like they make our best XI.

There is a definite change in style when he plays rather than Downing. Maxi wants everything to feet and runners off him and is forever willing to come inside and get involved whereas Downing is more mobile and our midfield always seem a bit too eager to bang a ball behind a fullback for him to chase. Different options is good though.

Still don't think he warrants a place.

Just stick with being right about the win, eh ?

It's really disappointing. The fact those three passed our checks and balances system is extremely worrying. But if Kenny did have free reign this summer, I would soon hope that would soon chance. It's close to Real buying Ronaldo and never starting him.
