Maybe not play him oop? Maybe get two strikers in front him?
Who at that midfield looks good?
I think the thread title is far more embarrassing than anything he has done on the pitch.

Can't believe the amount of people who still back this guy.

You want your CM to be able to be able to PLAY in the final third and this guy can't do it.

His brain, touch and lack of flare hinders us in so many ways. People often view his running power as more of a positive over these traits which will never get us 'tiki-taka' football.

Seeing a midfield three of him lucas and allen is heartbreaking.

Where the FUCK is the creativity coming from.

Just to point out the lack of creativity part there.
Him and Sterling have the most assists in the squad and he's our second top goalscorer this year.

Why did we play two holding midfielders? Why was Lallana left to rot in the bench when he's been our best creative outlet recently?

Tonight was about the wrong set up and tactics which was exacerbated by poor individual performances all over the pitch.

Hendersons performance is the least of our worries.

Spot on. Thanks.

Manager wants fucking shooting tonight. That starting line up? We had to win the game. Fuck off Rodgers.

I thought Henderson played well when he switched to the right.

Team selection tonight was a fucking bad joke.

I might be way off base but it strikes me that Henderson works well in sides that play a flowing attacking game, hence last season. He's always looked decidedly average when we try and do this passing from the back thing hence this season and prior to last season.

I think he'd be quite well suited to Ferguson's Utd sides, for example.

As for tiki-taka football at Liverpool, I wish this idea would die already. I'm not sure whether it's genuinely Rodgers goal to play that kind of football (I sincerely hope he's not labouring under the illusion that it's realistic) or whether it's just something that's lazily attributed to him but this team is incapable of playing tiki-taka. It's not a question of players playing out of position, confidence, tactics, the system, Sturridge coming back, the defence... it's the simple fact that our players don't have it in them and never will.

Are we to expect another 12 threads with similar names for every other player who has been wank this season?

He was poor tonight like the rest of the team and has been for most of the season so far but he also came closest to winning the game for us twice in the closing stages.

Is this what will happen when any good player is off form then? Or is the expectation that good players never go through a patch when they're below par (far below par in Hendo's case). He was ace last season. He's not suddenly a shit player.

I tend to think he's a bit hot-headed with his performances. When he's in bad form he thinks if he charges round the pitch, screaming and shouting it will all come good for him. He needs to calm down, compose himself, conentrate on his basic technique and not making mistakes.

I would bench him but I don't think Allen is doing much right either so it's a toss up between the two.

Depends what you want in a captain. I'd like a leader, dominator, and a communicator, not someone that leads by hard work or running about a bit. But it's each to their own.
Henderson has returned to the form that he's had for most of his time here which is a shame, but he's not a 'bad' player, you need some players in the team that are full of running and graft.
I've resigned myself to the fact that he'll be captain, but the more pressing issue is getting some sort of end product out of his running around like a headless chicken.

His running isn't the problem. It's more his distinct lack of quality on the ball at the moment.

It doesn't help him having to play high on the left. I can't think of a position he's be less suited to.

Can't think of any other Liverpool midfielder that has applied to.

Actually, yeah, I can, all the fucking great ones.

I'm not saying he'll go on to be a great, but I personally think he has the potential.

Henderson is one of our brightest talents and would be the one of the first names on our team sheet in every match if I had my way. I backed him to come good 2 years ago when he was being slated as a waste of money; however I pointed out the folly of playing him in a 4-man midfield if the other 3 were Shelvey/Downing/Allen or Lucas/Downing/Gerrard or Shelvey/Lucas/Sahin etc, etc.

Back then (i.e. 2 seasons ago) we regularly fielded a midfield with NO flair players and we seem to be going back to that now.................i.e. our midfield yesterday featured Allen, Henderson, Lucas and Gerrard...................3 of whom I really rate but none of whom can "beat a man" the way Sterling, Markovic, Lallana and Coutinho can.

Every team needs their Hendersons, Milners, Ramseys, etc but you have to surround them with flair players otherwise you'll never create chances and especially when you are as limited up front as we currently are.

Henderson should start EVERY game for us at present. We know what Lucas can do and unfortunately it's not good enough.......we don't yet know what Emre Can can do so he should start beside Henderson for the next 5 or 6 games to see what he's got. Ahead of them should be any 3 attacking players from Markovic, Lallana, Sterling, Coutinho and Gerrard.

Henderson's form will "magically" return if Rodgers ever picks the right players to play alongside him.

If you had your way Spearing would be starting as well
Actually my views on Emre Can echo my views on Spearing at the time i.e. we know what Lucas can do and it's not good enough so lets try someone else. We did eventually try Spearing and he wasn't upto the job and now I'd like to see Can given a go. If you think Lucas is a decent DM'er for a team with top 4 aspirations Modo that's your call but I think he woefully short of what we need for that position.

I'm not saying Can is the answer but he's gotta be worth trying because Lucas has had 6 or 7 seasons to prove his worth and IMO is not good enough.

I wouldn't put Henderson and Ramsey in the same bracket Pesam. Neither in terms of style of play or talent.

We need better in every department, that's all I know.
Nah, this our strongest squad in the last 20 years (not the strongest team, that was obviously last season with Suarez). With players like Henderson, Lallana, Sterling, Sturridge, Moreno, Coutinho, Lovren, Skrtel, Allen, Markovic, Flanagan, Manquillo, etc we should be challenging for the title again this season but we've been let down by our inability to address the DM situation, our abysmal back-up to our main striker and a dodgy goalkeeper.

If Rodgers loses his job the incoming manager will have a lot to work with.

I started responding but am up to my eyes, I'll get back to this later (or tomorrow).
