I do like that Slot says every player has a way back and I remember Klopp always saying that people should remember the 1000 good things someone has done before judging them on the few bad things.

I do think with different tactics Salah still has a lot of offer us but I’m not sure that’s possible while Slot remains.

It has to start with a public apology from Salah which I don’t see happening.

A very sad end for one of our greatest ever players and one that stopped us sliding into irrelevance.

He wouldn't be the first great player to leave under a bit of a cloud and I don't think it will damage his legacy. Fairly sure Phil Neal, arguably our best ever right back, had a similar falling out with the board when he didn't get the manager's gig after Joe Fagan. Anyway - Salah is on the wane and our attempts to accommodate the new players has exacerbated that, and I hope at least the positive from this is it makes that transition quicker.

Well, playing devil and Indy's advocate, maybe they took the risk of giving him a contract with this potential scenario in mind - if it didn't work out, orchestrate a transfer and get a fee.
