[article=http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/my-name-is-on-liverpools-wanted-list--mohamed-diame-eyes-west-ham-exit-9259196.html]Mohamed Diame has expressed his desire to leave West Ham for a top-six side at the end of the season and revealed that he believes Liverpool are interested in signing him.

By his own admission, the Senegalese international hasn’t had a hugely successful season with a return of four goals in 36 appearances, yet he is adamant that he is ready to take the next step in his career

The midfielder’s revelations may well incur the wrath of Hammers fans, who have dissented in recent weeks over their side’s style of play.

“Two years ago [before joining West Ham] I wanted to join a team with ambitions,” said Diame.

“Overall, my season has been okay, although I think it is not up to last season. I started badly, but gradually I got my bearings.

“Liverpool? I can't tell you if I will be a Liverpool player next season. But I think my name is still on their wanted list.

“I don't hide it, I'm ambitious and I want to join a top-six side. I am 26 years old and it's time to take that step.”

Diame will have the opportunity to endear himself to Liverpool fans when West Ham face the Reds’ title rivals Manchester City on the final day of the Premier League season in a potentially crucial clash. [/article]

I really like him. I'd love to have him in the squad right now to cover for Hendo.

For £3 million or whatever he would be a shwed buy. He's not top, top quality but he's got enough to be worth a punt at that price, and our squad is good enough now to cope if it doesn't work out.

If he's only a couple of million quid I think we should be all over it, but I suspect they'd try and charge us 10 to get us back for robbing them repeatedly.

For 2.5m, heck, even double that, I'd sign. Good, versatile player with skill and pace, and capable of a nice shot now and then. His ticker is a concern though; I've posted recently that Allardyce or was it Whelan mentioned that they had someone at the pitch side every game on stand by in case something happens to his heart during a game.

For what it's worth though, I'm not sure if that's Allardyce/Whelan being over-dramatic as usual... isn't it normal for the club doctor to be at pitch side for every game anyway?

Yeah, it was Whelan. Enough said.

I do like him. He's a powerful player. He's gave us all sorts of problems when we played West Ham last season I think. He withdrew from the game due to injury but was bossing it before that.

We've been linked to him when Kenny came back. I'd be up for signing him at that fee. Not overly pushed either way to be honest.

We will need a bigger squad, and not every player can be in the 20 million plus bracket. Where it not for his get out clause I'd say Diame is worth around £10m. No brainer for me. we don't even have a comparable player that is coming through imminently, so I think it would be a signing that isn't blocking anyone's way.

West Ham fans say hes a lazy bastard, that alone would make it a no go.

He always seems to play well against us but theres a reason hes not at a top 6 club by now, he ain't that good.
