I honestly cannot believe how poor he is defensively - it's just basics really.

The amount of chances he has had is unreal, considering he repeatedly is single-handedly responsible for lapses everytime he makes an appearance.
Carragher summed it up last night, it's remarkable that his game constantly leaves him attempting an impossible tackle, from the wrong side of the player, on his wrong leg.

He was ok for three months last season. Shit before. Didn't ser the game yesterday but assume he didn't play well.
But if it was Mignolet who didn't play well last night, or Lovren made a howler, og Matip showed he was slow and Moreno actually played well I assume noone would make a thread about him playing well. So when the expected happens and he doesn't play well why loose any sleep over that. We have built a squad, and will continue to do so, where we strengthen with the right additions. We will change Moreno when time is due. We have had other priorities and I for one doesn't care much if Moreno plays the odd league cup game or not. Based on the highlights he didn't loose us the game and I sure as hell didn't expect him to win us the game either.

His contract runs out in the summer, right? He's absolutely dreadful. Who's left back for the reserves/youth teams? Might as well start blooding them into the squad. They can't be worse than this idiot. And if they are, they at least might learn a thing or two - something which Moreno has shown he is incapable of doing in five years.
He's had three good months in 4 seasons that are littered with errors and crap form. That's why people are quick to jump on him. If he played well, I think everyone would be safe in the assumption that he's just as likely to turn up next time and play shite again. Because it's what he does.
And all of those players you mentioned also get fair stick, so I'm not sure what point you're making.

Defensively very solid but nothing whatsoever in the final 3rd ... which is why Trent's ahead of him. We're a harder team to play against when our FBs can create havoc in the final 3rd.
I guess no one is comfortable on the left bar Moreno - which is ridiculous. I'd rather an uncomfortable Clyne than Moreno.

My point is that I don't loose any sleep over a back up left back playing the odd league cup game. If we didn't have other issues in the squad to adress maybe the back up left back should have been our focus but we have spent quite heavily to build this squad. So it is actually pretty "small time Charlie" pointless to have a thread about a left back that didn't even get a sniff when he was the only left back in the club. A thread to nag on an issue that doesn't exist is just stupid.
He was the reason I was meh over Robertson when we signed him. We needed a world class LB and a back up better than this clown.

I got the impression the reason we were hanging on to Moreno was that our long term aim was buying Sessegnon, and it seemed pointless getting a stop gap in.
He’s seemed overhyped so far but it’s early days.
I’ve watched a lot of Lewis this season and I’d love to see him given a chance.

But is it a joke? We have had the best start for ages. Won 6 in a row with not too many easy fixtures there. And throughout that spell some people have constantly demanded for Clyne to start. And when he finally starts we lost the game and the same people can't praise Clyne enough. In Norway we have a term for such people.... We call them Swedes.😀
