New deal for Premier League TV rights

If anything that might force the big clubs to lower the ticket prices should it lead to less supporters at the games.
I'm all for it.

This is so blindingly obviously the right solution. Show all the matches and devote most of the extra money to subsidising ticket prices.

The fact that the retention time on eweka is boss, and that IPvanish is well handy, sold it for me.

Seems Ive referred half of SCM to Eweka.. yet no one clicked on my referral link..

Cnuts... 😀

Yeah, the retention time is boss.

I've had a weird issue with one show on all servers (tried three), ncis. I've been watching it from the start, & cannot find any hd versions on usenet of early season that will download. They're all well within retention & some of the sd ones posted by the same groups on the same day work perfectly, & I've tried numerous hd versions. It's very strange.

Thankfully iptorrents has grouped seasons in freeleech so that's helped.

Still a pain in the arse & very odd, I can't see it being a dmca issue.

Have you tried downloading via XBMC? I struggled getting Boardwalk and the easiest solution was to use Genesis plugin and then download the file.

I always forget about the downloading option via some addons in XBMC..

I do however often use the Xunity music plug in for that,

Sadly that will never happen (the subsidising ticket bit) with the influx of foreign owners

All the PL need to say is, ok, you (or whoever) can broadcast every match that isn't already sold off, on the sole condition that a large percentage (say, 75%) of the profits are used to subsidise ticket prices.

They would be profiting and subsidising at the same time.

The law is in the way of broadcasting every premier league game. 3 o'clock kick offs can't be shown unless it's a cup final.

It is to protect attendances lower down the leagues.

I couldn't agree more, you could lower general sale tickets with the additional money (plus the need to convince fans that it's worth coming instead of watching at home) and the corporate tickets would still sell well and at an expensive price because they aren't aimed at those just want to watch the game. The only concern is obviously the lower leagues, but do the people who go to watch lower league teams really only go because there's nothing on tele?

Other than that, they have done very little to protect the lower leagues..

Richard Scudomore came out with a comment this week the really gratedme..

'we are not a charity' when referred to about spreading the wealth to grass root and the lower leagues..

It really pisses me off just how greedy the PL has bcome in terms of its wealth..

Not heard of genesis plugin, is it a usenet front end?

Just Googled it & it is on superrepo, that cunting site filled my xbmc with pop up ads the last time I used it, have they sorted that shite?

Total installer is great for installing addons. It has pretty much everything.

Genesis is pretty good for tv and movies. Never used it to download anything though.

Anyone have any idea of what it would mean per club? By that i mean whats the most a club could earn and whats the least. I think last year we earned just shy of £100m? The biggest earners in Europe from TV deals are RM and Barca who earned £103m each.

Approx £100m for the bottom club and £160m for the league winners are the figures bandied about. Presumably when the overseas packages are renegotiated in a year or twos time this will increase even further.
