a thread/reminder for anyone who wants to follow the youngsters in this tournament thing, it's live on LFC tv tonight.

i'm gonna have a particular eye on Toni Silva tonight, he got lots of praise for his last performance against Molde (scored twice), but i've never been convinced by him. everyone always says how brilliant he is at taking it past defenders, but for me he's always had the clumsy look of a babel about him - almost trying to run through opponents.

Michael Ngoo's another one worth watching, along with the usual suspects like suso, sterling, wisdom etc.
 
It's funny how Ngoo almost decides to fight Coady over the penalty and then celebrates with him.
Then there's Silva who's trying to deflate the situation only so he can take the penalty.

BTW Suso is amazing. He's just 5 kilos of muscles from playing 1st team football IMO.

The point of a squad is that they are ready to play for the first team
 
Sterling releases Morgan who while being harried by two defenders, rounds the keeper and has a goal-bound attempt deflected wide for a corner. Resulting corner by Adorjan is headed by Coady deflects off the defender on the line and appears to cross it before the goalkeeper catches it. Goal not given, very debateable.
 
Shit game and a poor performance by us. It's the worst I've seen this group play I think. Starling's a great talent but I've thought before that he needs to be more aggressive: he's got the pace and skill to skin defenders but often he seems strangely tentative to really go at players.

Pretty much yeah.
Have to say that Adorjan looked good when he came on.
Suso started off well, but faded after 20 minutes.
Worst performance to date, that I've seen. They were even better when they lost to Sporting or Porto 3-0.
 
I thought Suso was crap tbh, but he wasn't the only one. It seems to me that the only reason Suso's been starting ahead of Adorjan is the club must see him as the better long term prospect, because for me Adorjan's clearly the better player right now.

Dave U metnioned in one of his recent reports that Suso doesn't seemed to have progressed alot in the last yr or so , sort of stood still . Pity as he looked shit hot a yr or so ago . Lets see if he can step up again .

Personally I think this compition is great , why uefa didn't help develop something like this is beyond me . Really shows the standard our academy is at compared to some of the best in Europe .
