MATCHDAY TICKETS

Matchday tickets for Category A games have increased by £1 for the Kop and £2 for other stands. Tickets for Category B games have increased by £2, while for Category C matches Kop prices have risen by £1 and all other stands by £2. The most expensive ticket at Anfield will now be £48 for a Category A game (for example: a Centenary Stand seat v Manchester United) whilst the cheapest adult ticket will be £39 for a Category C ticket in the Kop (for example: a Kop seat v West Bromwich Albion).

Following feedback from supporters, the Club has reduced all children's ticket prices by up to £8, with every junior Barclays Premier League ticket now priced at just £15, regardless of the match category. This is in line with us wanting to encourage the next generation of supporters.

SEASON TICKETS

Season tickets have risen by an average of 4%, on top of which has been added the Governments 2.5% rise in VAT which was introduced in January 2011. The lowest price is now £725 for a Kop season ticket bought online and the highest price £802 for Centenary and Main Stand season tickets bought via ticket office window sales or telephone sales.

Managing Director, Ian Ayre, said: "We have taken a considered view on these prices, taking into account the state of the economy, our ability to compete in a competitive football market and our aspirations for the 2011-12 season. Liverpool Football Club is facing growing levels of inflation which increases the cost of goods and services to the Club, as much as any other business. The CPI rate of inflation is currently standing at 4.5% and taking this into account we aimed to align the rise in match day tickets closely to this level only.

"In the case of season tickets, we have also added the revised rate of VAT set by the government which came into force in January 2011 which is an increase of 2.5% since we last issued season tickets in 2010.

"We believe that this rise represents the fairest level of increase we could offer, whilst helping to ensure we maintain our significantly reduced debt position and our aspirations to improve our playing squad. We believe this will allow us to be competitive and maintain our ability to challenge our main competitors, many of whom have significantly higher capacities at this time."

In addition to this, Liverpool Football Club will, for the first time, also be offering supporters a range of finance options with which to purchase their Season Ticket. Further details will be provided in due course.

I was at a Bayern game recently using a mates season ticket which cost €450 including the champs league 1st round and cup games .Seat was pretty decent also , not up in the heavens or anything. That's like half the price of a Kop one !!

Bayern sell adult match day tickets for like €15 , €30,€40 & €50 , infact it's not just them ...it like that all over Germany and even cheaper , they're very big into their clubs being a part of the community and fair priced so everyone can go . It's probably the main reason why the league averages the highest attendance in world football , despite every league game being shown live on tele (...it's also a pretty reasonable price to buy the live football package ) .Most clubs are not really run to make a profit for an investor , they own themselves so to speak and are run by a board who are paid a wage . I guess the downside to all this is that the clubs aren't swimming in money and the league standard is a little down on the other European major leagues but at least you don't feel like you're being bent over and taken advantage of .

Just heard on the radio that you can get a season ticket at Man City next season for £280.

Jesus mother of fuck.

To be honest I would have thought, realtive to the old economic law of supply and demand equalling price, that the increases aren't over excessive, especiallly when you consider what is charged by some other clubs at the top of the Premier league table.

If we start next season similar to the way we have preformed under Kenny this season, then I would imagine that tickets will become harder and harder to come by and there will be many fans outside the ground willing to pay close to or above £100 to get inside on match day.

Arsenal have increased their already extremely high priced match day tickets, their fans are pissed off to say the least.

If all of Europe followed the German example, football would be what it should be. Theirs is the only sane model. Football should be all about community, not insane profits for overseas investors, or validating arab and Russian mafia tycoons.

They were singing 'Six percent, you're having a laugh' for most of the match at the weekend.

Fair play to them hey? Only slight downside is that you don't have a fixed seat each game.

The premier lounge tix are 2295 this year. That's a rise of about a hundred each I think. The thing is, last year there were at least 4 Euro games and I think we ended up with 6. Thus when you considered the price of a ticket you thought they were about 80 or 90 each. This year with just 18 games it's 130, which is a massive leap.

Let's hope we get some home FA Cup games.

My kop ticket cost me £725. I don't need lounges or cushions on my seat though...

Just extra legroom eh?

They make sense as a business purchase, but only just. I reckon this could be the last season.

Just renewed mine.
They don't give a prompt payment discount any more, that seems to have been replaced by a £20 on-line discount.
So if you can't pay on line there is a hidden increase anyway.
I can't remember how much the prompt payment was, I am sure it was better than £20 though

regards

Our Main Stand season ticket has gone up by £48 from £732 to £780. As you know I can't do maths but I think it works out at an increase of over 6.5%.

I agree that the discount for online payment is a lot less than the old "early payment" discount. 🙂

Which means it's gone up even more than the 6.5%, it must be nearly 7%

I have though ticked the League Cup box this year 😉
