NFL Regular Season Thread 2010

Ok, pre season as well 😉

It's nearly upon us. Cowboys to become the first team to make a home Superbowl, where they will beat the Packers (changed my mind from the Jets).

Detroit to go 5-11, including a dramatic Stafford inspired demolition of the Pats on thanksgiving day.

Going to try not to jump all over you, but I think that you may wanna try again on your Super Bowl losers, amigo... 🙂

If Farve and Reevis return, it's Vikings Vs Jets for me.

If they don't, I think it's Cowboys or Saints Vs Colts or Chargers.

Christ, I hope the Cowboys get there just so I can see the face on Jerry when Romo takes a shit with his shorts on. I like the Jets. Their secondary is ridiculous even without Revis. With him it's terrifying.

You really think Favre can take them an extra game? For someone you don't rate that highly, that's impressive! 🙂

Revis is key for the Jets though I think they still are one of the top teams there even if he sits the whole year.

Not really sure about the 'Boys just yet. Give me 2-3 regular season games, and I'll tell you if I feel 'playoffs'

He fits THEM perfectly. As you well know... And, as you also know, I never said that he was bad, just that he's not THAT good. And 'good' is all that Minnesota needs right now.

Good point on the Cowboys, by the way - Ferocious regular season schedule. But they're a good team, and should go deep into January.

I'd say Cowboys and Chargers in the Super Bowl.

Redskins and Lions for most improved teams.

Vikings with or without Farve will not get to the Super Bowl, Saints barely get the wild card, and are out in the first playoff game.

On another note, with the toughest schedule in the league, Houston will make the playoffs.

I like Houston a lot. Love Andre Johnson, and have a lot of time for Schaub too. They have a bastard division. Slot them in NFC South and they go to extra games every year.

Yep, plus this year they play all the NFC East teams, plus San Diego, Baltimore, and the Jets, gonna be a bitch.

Yeah, that's a horrible schedule. I like that Johnson is signing for life. Decent foundation for a very good side there.

The only thing harder than winning a Super Bowl, is winning another one.

True, but we made history last season, so now we've got the taste for it. 8)

Seriously, I accept we're not favourites, but there's a compactness about us that I like in a team - in whichever sport - and that can take us a long way IMHO.

Bradford took a bit of a mauling against the Vikes in the fake football. Didn't look 100% comfortable under center at the start. And I don't lknow what Stafon Johnson did in a previous life, but the gods are giving him a time of it. After the weight bar catastrophe last year, he took a really horrible injury against the Seahawks. Looked like he dislocated his ankle, so that'll be him for his rookie season. Ryan Mathews looks good for the Bolts. Although he was running against the Bears, so...

Jahvid Best looked rather promising (although the interception was his fault). The d-line was good too. Our secondary's still shite however.

Been watching Eli getting lit up by the Jets the other day. It's pretty funny. You can never do too much damage to a Manning, I say.

I'm not much of an NFL follower, but I understand the game (mainly thanks to Madden) and do quite enjoy it. So this season I've decided to pick a team to follow. I need some help though ..

I'm thinking the 49'ers. Superb in the 80's, red uniform and they've not had a lot of success recently.

Any reason why it shouldn't be them ?

Dallas Cowboys mate.

Nah, you want the New Orleans Saints, first-time Superbowl champs, America's team. A legend's being born. Be part of it.

America's Team? Please, one good playoff run does not make you 'America's Team' - if it's any team, it's the Patriots ...

Just don't go for the Lions Ross 🙂

On the subject of the Saints, on the start of the new Madden game it has Drew Brees talking about how wonderful it it's all about the City and team as one etc. No mention of them trying to move to San Antonio then 😉
