[article]Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas says Memphis Depay will NOT be joining Barcelona this summer.

Aulas has revealed that Barcelona won't be able to afford Depay due to the financial implications of the coronavirus crisis.

"The president of Barcelona told me on Sunday that Barcelona were suffering a lot from the COVID-19 crisis and had no possibility of making an offer," he wrote on Twitter.

Aulas was responding to an article from De Telegraaf that claimed a deal was done.[/article]

EFL: we need premier league money to help clubs survive
Sky: We aren’t paying you what we owe
Spurs: Hey Bale, here’s over a mill a month

So we can add Leicester and Spurs to the list of clubs we cant compete with financially, along with Leeds, Villa and Newcastle.

Fulham, WBA, Saints all have richer owners than us too.

Thats not really how it works though, John Henry doesnt own Liverpool FC, he owns about 40% of a company that owns LFC amongst other things. I just find it bizarre that every club in the league regardless of ownership structure, debt levels, revenue streams is prepared to spend more money than us.

Why would Ings even want that move? At best Spurs are likely competing for a spot between 4-6 in the league and he's going to play second fiddle to a number of players in systems but primarily to Mongo Kane.
