I think you are all missing the point of this story.

It is not about selling torres to strengthen the skwad - it's about selling Torres so that Hicks has a better position to get the loans required to buy out Gillette.

That being the case, and given that Gillette is on record as saying he has no intention of selling to Hicks in any circumstances, it is unlikely to happen.

To sell I'd expect 4 of the six board menbers to agree.

Gillette, Mini-Gillette, Parry and Moores would block the sale.

This is pointless regardless of wether Chelsea have put in a bid or not.

1) We will NEVER sell Torres
2) Chelsea are just going for players they cannot have
3) Hick will probably be killed if he was sold - football is not like football in USA - we are serious about our game, live and breathe it and he knows that.
4) I think Rafa will just walk if he was sold.

So its not going to happen - at this point in time he is a priceless commodity to LFC - infact any one of our core players are priceless at this point in time because he is a major building block that will also determine the type of players we wish to bring into the club this summer.

Their offer - if it is real will be ignored regardless of the money involved.
