you can't really compare the owner of the club and someone privvy to all of liverpool's transfer activity to people who are completely in the dark. it's easy to be calm and collected when you have all of the information.

That's the point. They are in the dark so what's the point in getting worked up about it? We're linked with dozens of player and the general trend seems to be:

Class foreign player - lots of pants wetting and then dummy spitting when the move is dismissed or the player signs for someone else. Oh and the manager/board/chairman whoever usually get ridiculed for it.

Untried young English player - Why aren't we breaking the bank for this lad? Why is he moving to an average Premiership team? Why won't we pay the extra few million to ensure we get him so he can sit on our bench for the next year? Our club are a bunch of amateurs/we're skint/blah blah...

Average, not everyone's cup of tea Premiership based player - They're shite, we've got no ambition, why are we willing to spend big?? The club are amateurs with no ambition blahdy, blahdy blah...

But ITK i take with a pinch of salt too. They may be privvy to information that we're keen on someone, but that doesn't mean we'll definitely get them. Wickham is a prime example.

It might be that a handful at LFC know and they wont tell anyone, but there is a second and a third party invovled and information might be leaked that way

When all this buyout crap was happening, the head steward at the club was telling my mate stuff every day. He works there on a proper 9-5 basis and said he had all this gossip that was straight from the horses mouth, and I can't recall specific details but the whole lot of it was horseshit. So the horses mouth had been eating horses arse and spreading a load of disinformation or senior sources at the club are just full of shit.

One of SGs best mates is a mate of mine and he says the players hear fuck all. So if the office staff and the players don't know anything, there's only the board - and realistically, who are they going to be telling down the pub? In Boston? Unless people are searching Kenny's bins or sending Russian hookers to shag Comolli and get his pillow talk, no one knows shit.

I meant if we are linked with player x from club y then it might be that no-one at LFC is passing on information but x and y and those linked to x and y might be passing information on.
Just cos LFC have taken to doing shizzle behind closed doors does not mean other are.

I dont think there is consistently - even managers and players arent necessarily "in the know" anymore

Theres a somewhat gobby former player of ours who has moved into management who wont be welcomed back into his long-termlocal anymore...... he returned from a high profile job interview declared himself "nailed on" for it, at which point the local boys promptly emptied their current accounts on Betfair at ever reducing odds....needless to say it wasnt his name that was announced 24hrs later...cue some very unhappy campers
