God acknowledged he was a Liverpool fan ...
Sheesh ... what a talent -

Waste of talent that is
I was expecting a story about fingering some girl in the bogs at the school dance or something.
Thats what I was doing in 1993.
Because he got to finger a girl in the bogs at the school dance?no you weren't.
you were busy writing a paper on why living in Norway makes you a happier person!

His finishing was almost supernatural at times.I think waste is harsh.
He scored 150+ goals ...
Perhaps, if only he had actually hit his potential ... because he had the talent to get close to Rushie.
His finishing... wow.
His finishing was almost supernatural at times.
Still, he scored 14 goals in the PL in 1998 never scored that many goals again. Barely made it to 10 after that and he was only 23 at the time.
That's why I think it's a waste of talent.
It's sad because, like many others born in the 80s, I idolized him.
Never the same after the 3rd(?) ankle injury. He seemed to recover and then get instantly injured again. Also Ged did him no favours with his rotation system. Often dropping after he showed any signs of getting some form. His finishing was almost supernatural at times.

Was at the game, a League Cup tie at Fulham, which came just days after a dispiriting defeat in the derby, with McManaman and Grobelaar coming to blows on the pitch. Fowler was like a breath of fresh air and scored the third goal in a 3-1 win. If memory serves he got a hatful in the second leg.
Fowler was simply sensational. So many to choose from, this is one of my favourite goals.
Some of you will have happy memories of Timbo's goals too.
