Been taking a look at our 86 double winning season as I realised that even though I went to a lot of home games that season and cu final etc I have very little memory of what we actually did that season apart from the famous footage of a couple of games.
We won 11 or our last 12 and drew the other to win the title that season. Amazing. But what's also amazing to me was the attendances.
Away at Birmingham there were just 15,000. Home to Everton 45,000 but home to QPR just 26,000.
Really interesting, esp when you go on youtube and watch eh relating footage.
Ronnie Whelan's goal to go 2-0 up away at Leicester in penultimate game would have been a great goal in any era.
Check out th wiki entry for that season.
