On 19 July 2018, Liverpool officially confirmed the signing of Alisson for a fee of £66.8 million (€72.5 million), making him the most expensive goalkeeper of all time, surpassing the transfers of Ederson (most expensive in pound sterling) and Gianluigi Buffon (most expensive in Euros).[4][29][30][31] However, the fee was broken just four weeks later when Chelsea signed Kepa Arrizabalaga for a reported £71.6 million (€80 million) from Athletic Bilbao.[32] On 10 August, Liverpool confirmed via their official website that he would wear the vacant number 13 shirt in the 2018–19 season.[33]

Top class. The whole high line, offside trap, last line of Ali is just a top class, slightly unique system.

Sets the heart pumping at times but as a ball playing, one on one specialist, he's probably the best out there. And it now looks like we have a good understudy in young Kelleher too.

Yeh agree, Kelleher has been great too !

I think he’s arguably the best we’ve ever had. And I’ve seen many - back from the days of Brucie up till Allie.
Yeh same here, still love watching the clip from when Ali scored the goal. :)
loved Bruce when he did the wobbly leg thing to put them off :D some things ya never forget !

He'll need to keep it going for a while yet to surpass Ray Clemence in my book, but he could well get there. For me he's up alongside Virgil as crucial to this team's progress and development.
That's where I am at.
If he keeps doing what he has being doing for another fiver or six seasons then he will be there.
Pepe Reina had the chance to do the same but turned to average after three seasons.
Let's fully judge Ali when he is here another five seasons but he is going about it in the right way.

I think Klopp really loves and respects Alli as a person – he's the first one he runs to when he's feeling emotional, like he did when Origi scored vs Everton. Klopp is like a father to most of the squad, but with Alli it's more like brothers, I think.

We could paint it red haha and put posters of Klopp and our trophy’s on it
they’d be screamin ..im laughing my ass off thinking about it hahaha

On his relationship with Klopp…

Yeah, it is a really good relationship. He’s like a father to me. When I spoke with him for the first time on a FaceTime video call, he just answered the call and started to smile, I started to smile and we could already see that we would have a connection. I think I have some feelings about life and how life works which are similar to him.

I really like the way he works and the way he makes the team feel comfortable and at the same time puts pressure on us. He’s a guy who is always happy, but when you go onto the pitch it’s hard work, serious work and he’s a top manager, so all those things contribute to a good relationship. I really love to be here and working with him. I love my life here at Liverpool.
