Our Harv.

I'm sorry but :
a) Harvey chose Villa for whatever reason
b) Harvey hasn't been great when played. If he'd tore it up then everyone would be saying WTF and he'd have a line of suitors a mile long.
c) he made £3.38m at Liverpool last season and is supposedly on £150k a week at Villa. Whatever happens he'll finish his career a very rich man.

There are millions of people: in war torn cities, abused children, seriously ill, destitute or homeless etc. that deserve a bleeding heart and sympathy. Harvey will be just fine whatever happens (and yes Villa are cunts). However some of you need to get your heads screwed on right with this OTT rhetoric.

That escalated quickly...

He's just a player, in an industry where everyone is overpaid compared to almost anyone else outside of it. Doesn't change his plight or the absolutely unnecessary position we got ourselves into.

We are still talking about football right?

Having read a bit about his situation it’s clear that the club gave him all the time in the World to sort out his move. Several suitors and in the end we approved the Villa move after his wish. The club also approved the structure of the deal to suit Villa more given their issues.

In the end I don’t think we can fault the club for this situation, but Villa are a mess and Harvey found himself in the middle of all this. No doubt Monchi has sold him a dream that couldn’t be realized. And Emery is just showing poor form.

I wouldn’t do business with Villa again.

Yeah, I'm not shedding any tears for him any time soon, but it's a shame he's effectively lost two years of development, combined with some bad injuries before that.

Villa have acted terribly. The decent thing to do was to play him, activate the clause and then sell him on. He's still going to have decent suitors.

Is anyone comparing Harvey's plight to people in war-torn cities? I believe most of us have the sense that while we complain about various things and let out steam, these pale into insignificance compared to the actual issues that people in the world are facing.

You can apply that logic to everything anyone complains about on these boards. The next time someone complains about Salah running into a defender - pipe down, think about the poor kid in war-torn cities who is dying of hunger.

This is a place people come to share our love following a club and, to a certain degree, escape from the "world" and its various issues.

You wouldn't think so the way some are going on here. It was a reminder to put things into perspective. Harvey's got a life 99.99% of the world would love to have.

Love for the club? If I have to read any more Halmeister 'the sky is falling' or Binomial "Hughes is a cunt' posts I'll consider topping myself!

It's business owners treating an employee horribly.

Everyone is talking about how much money he makes. Aston Villa is owned by billionaires.
And when has a billionaire ever given a left testicle about any employee?

Horribly? He's not starting but gets to play football every day. Got that's awful.

That's straying into "it's just a bunch of grown men kicking a ball about" territory.

Which obviously it is.

I'd rather see Elliot do well than not but ultimately don't really care. Probably some other bullshit I do care about though. There will be things that people latch onto more than others but it's all the same the shit. It's all just silly escapism.

People show their love in complex ways, Froggy 🙂

Halmeister plays a specific role - he is the villain we deserve. Regarding binomial, I concede and offer no defense on my end.

It's probably been said, but I'd have him back and rotating with Salah at this point. He couldn't be any worse and we need the bodies. Shame he's another one the egghead has marginalised.

Why is everyone forgetting the fact that if we get rid of this obligations, we're basically saying to everyone we ever negotiate with, "don't worry, if you don't like it now just throw your toys out of the pram later and we'll back down". It's pathetic from Villa, the moaning part anyway, they knew exactly what they were signing up for, stop coming out in public and playing the victim to their own decisions.

The only criticism i'd give our side, is that Villa changing their mind isn't actually a crime, and was a very plausible outcome of this when £35million is in play. We really should have included some form of terms to cancel the loan in such situations, unless of course we already have but we are keeping him there cos our managers a mug.
