Coutinho would be fine so long as he was told to hit the ball straight down the middle. Given his tendency to drag his shots wide, that should ensure it ended up right in the corner.

I actually used a related approach when I took penalties. As a fullback I didn't get much shooting practice and noticed that I had a tendency to drag the few shots I did manage to get in, so when I took a peno (including in five-a-side later on) - which happened quite often because there were always better players who weren't up for it - I took a very straight run-up to compensate, and it worked pretty well. I reckon I had about an 80% success rate.
