We normally have a thread about anyone worth knicking from the relegation teams.

Any one seen anything they like?

I quite like Rannochia (sp) at Hull along with Maguire who looks a good player in the making.

Ive always had a soft spot for Gylfi at Swansea.

And the keeper at Sunderland whos name escapes me looks a good talent.

We will need a bigger squad next year and wont be just signing marquee bitches.

So anyone you rate amongst the bottom teams?

Pickford (Sunderland goalie) is a good shout. Linked with a move to Everton for 19 mill I think.
Robertson from Hull is decent. Wouldnt be high up on the list (if thats allowed to say) but an alternative at least.

If we're selling Lucas this summer, his legacy deserves to be continued by the ginger Clucas from Hull. Or not....

I think we had one of these the other week and if memory serves the conclusion was that there was no stand-out candidate.

Sigurdsson is a good player but not worth what Swansea would ask for him.

Ranocchia is a decent player but since moving to Hull he has been moaning non-stop about the shit weather and shit food.

He'll be looking for a move out of the UK at the end of the season without a doubt.

Oops sorry missed it.

Who gives a fuck about all that now when our budget is clearly dependant on CL so let's see where we finish before looking at possible signings

He's past his best anyway, according to my Serie A-following sources.

Maguire from that club would be worth a look though, ditto Gibson at Boro. I'd prefer either to Keane from Burnley TBH. They're equally good already, IMO of course, and the impression I get is that they have more potential for further improvement.

I'd throw £5-7m at Adama Traore. Few will agree but I think there's a player in there despite all the rawness.

For me it's be worth it for the bench.

Don't worry, the club aren't going to go out and sign someone based on the opinions of posters in this thread.

Waves at Jurgen

A couple of weeks ago, I suggested that he's one who is worth looking at if we could get him for as cheaply as Boro paid Villa. The premise was that Klopp and staff could coach him and develop his decision-making.

I've since had a rethink though. Remembering and considering that this lad spent 10 years at the Barca academy, my confidence in his learning ability has wavered. If he couldn't learn anything about playing a pass over there after all those years, I'm not sure we could drill that into him now. I like his pace, strength and skill, but we also have young lads with similar attributes, e.g. Kent and Ojo. They have similar decision-making issues from what I've seen or read (e.g. from the Barnsley fans forums), so if we need to spend money and time to acquire and then coach Traore, we might as well just stick with coaching our two young ones.

It could be funny though watching Klopp shouting and screaming on the touchlines like a madman at Traore every time he dribbles the length of the pitch and then loses possession or plays a poor pass.

Traore just seem to lack any footballing intelligence and understanding whatsover.
He'd break down more attacks then creating them in my opinion. I'd stay away.

It wouldn't last long. Klopp would engineer a reason to give the guy one of his bear hugs and there'd be a "tragic accident" from which the player would never recover.

I actually like watching Traore play but I have an inkling I'd feel differently if he were in our red shirt as opposed to someone else's. Sorry, Squiggs.

Speaking ahead of Sunderland's final home game of the season:
[article]He said: “We don’t know exactly what is going in but I think it’s well documented, I’m a free agent. It is a difficult situation, it is going to be emotional. You never know in football, I remember when I left Tottenham, it was hard because of the relationship I had with the fans, it was a decision I had to make for football reasons.

“I went and I came back. For the next three games I’m going to give everything I can and if turns out to be my last home game, I want to show the fans that I appreciate them, every song they’ve sung, every minute they’ve supported the team, all the lads.

“Even when I’ve stopped playing I’d always like to come back and watch the games, help the club in any way I can really, to give something back the younger lads coming through. It is a special place, the fans are unbelievable. Every player who plays for this club says the same, it will be hard to go somewhere else and find fans like this.”[/article]

HIs dribbling skills and pace are extremely exciting. Now if only there was a way to cut passing and shooting out of his game. £5-7m wouldn't get you a 2nd Div. player today (if we were after him). There's no way Middlesbro would take under £10-12m for young guy still tied to a contract.

I didn't realise he could also play on the left though, however what can he do against packed defences ? Because he won't get that space in 90% of our games.

Not for me. At 18 you can get away with little or no end product. By 21 you should have more awareness. The lad has pace only. Lower end prem or championship level at best in my opinion.

Traore Was useless against Chelsea and the few other times I've seen him play. No tracking back. It's the story of his career. He has A few fancy flicks and pace just not guts. See the difference in victor Moses performances, half the talent but twice the player

I read on FB that Robertson and Maguire were coming from Hull. Conjecture obvs.
Didn't they have the worst defence in the Prem?
